Did anyone have this same childhood wonder?
Riding along in the car at night,
the trees whipping by, and a fantastically steady moon
seeming, with childhood’s eye,
to be keeping apace mile after mile.
Please share your childhood wonders below.

I wanted to create a forum for the discussion of childhood misperceptions (your brain was working overtime, but it just lacked the facts to settle an issue). Looking back, I find many of my misperceptions are at least amusing if not meaningful to me.
Another example: I was a small child in the 70’s. My first BIG exposure to electronic entertainment was the 8 track tape player in my parents’ Buick. As a result of this early exposure, I thought that all electronic entertainment behaved in a similar manner. I wholeheartedly believed that when one turned off the TV, the programming would pause, resuming from that point when you turned it on again. And I thought the music on radio stations cycled over and over again (I guess I was right about that one!).
I invite you to share your childhood misperceptions below.
When I first started listening to music & watching music videos, I thought they would always be playing new songs (since it was all new to me at first).
I was disappointed when I soon realized that the same stuff is played over and over and over again.
A million apologies Blessedwolf. I posted the thread around 3am. Well past the time when I’m still capable of using the search function
No apologies nesary. If it weren’t for shameless self-promotion on my part, I would’ve let it slide. But it’s a thread I’m very proud of, and I jumped at the opportunity to keep it alive & kicking.
I should actually thank you for inspiring the resurrection.
I Just wanted to note that as we drove back from Christmas vacation our three year old daughter looked out the car window and exclaimed: “The moon is following us!” Several times during the ride she would tell us that the moon was STILL following us.
