Were they Gardetto’s?
I was just telling someone about these the other day. I used to work for a grocery store that sold these in bulk and we couldn’t keep them in stock. Haven’t had them in years.

Have you tried Zevia?
Vernors has never disappeared. Still on the shelf everyday in Michigan. The formula has not changed either. Maybe your local distributor stopped carrying it.
Heinz bought out Lea & Perrins and in theory could stop making it so as to not cannibalize sales. However, I think I have seen it available at moderately priced stores.
Nope. I tried them. Close, but, not close enough.
Maybe you can only get the real stuff in Michigan. Like Faygo Red Pop.
Faygo Red Pop and Vernors!
Two really cool things from my childhood in Michigan. Whenever I find myself in that state I get some Vernors. I haven’t had a Red Pop since I was a child though.
Nope. “Out of stock.”
Same with Amazon. I wonder if the manufacturer just hasn’t quite committed to discontinuing it or not … ? Seems weird to keep listing a product that hasn’t been available for at least a few years.
I bought some last time I was in California
Nah, we have it in Ohio, too.
Tell him to try Goya-brand mondongo. Pretty much the same thing.

Depending on where you live, Goya products are available in just about every store.
And it is indeed delicious.
Thanks for the info!
Wheat Chex is my favorite too. Luckily it’s readily available in the Denver area. The funny thing is, it only comes in 14 oz. boxes and all the other Chex cereals come in 18 oz. boxes. The price per ounce is the same, however (last week at Walmart it worked out to 16.7 cents per ounce).
Andeker beer produced by Pabst, back in the days when Pabst was only brewed in Milwaukee. It was a premium beer - a Pabst equivalent of Michelob. It was quite good. Never saw it in bottles, but it was available on tap in a lot of places.
Several years ago, Kit-Kat came out with a limited edition coffee flavor kit-kat. Man it was good. I’ve haven’t seen it since.
Smucker’s had a low sugar orange marmalade that is no longer available. Not as sweet as the regular, not as bitter as the gourmet varieties.
Bumping this old thread in case anyone else remembered these products, because YOU GUYS!!! I found a store brand version of the “chicken goo packets” that are just as good as the originals. Salty umami bombs, they are:

Cool!
Meijer also carries Bill Knapp’s classic bakery items, even though Bill Knapp’s Restaurant went out of business in 2002. Yum!
Ooh, that reminds me! Not discontinued, but never got past test marketing: Kona Cola. Coffee flavored Pepsi. Pretty tasty by itself, and ambrosial when we added bourbon. We found it in Chadds Ford, PA, where it was being test-marketed, and foolishly thought it would go national. Never have understood why it didn’t. Especially since it was the mid-90s and the coffee craze was at its peak.
We couldn’t have those because (at the time in the 70’s) the ingredients listed it as containing lard and that went against the dietary laws of the goofy church we belonged to.
They sell both @ Woodmans in Milwaukee/Madison, wisconsin. The Faygo (sounds like a homophobic slur to me) goes 3 12 packs for 8 bucks even, but sometimes it’s on sale 2/$5. I like their flavored diet sodas like orange, grape, and Red Pop.
I don’t know if this was mentioned in the thread TL/DR but long ago Campbell’s made BAKED (not fried) ramen noodles, tasty and MUCH less caloric than the usual. I’ve not seen any since the mid-1990’s. Is unfried ramen available anywhere?
