You can get small, medium or large. Large fills a whole platter and weighs 10 oz. before breading.

That brings back some good memories! I used to live in that neck of the woods. Hickory Hollow was great, and they used to (still do?) have live bluegrass, country, or folk music.

I haven’t been in forever. They have great BBQ, too.

This was a tiny B&G next to the Bridge Lake General Store; I was staying at nearby Lac des Roches Resort in 2001. We came here looking for sandwiches and the owner upsold us on the baked escargot. None of us ever had snails before; we tried it and loved it so much we came back the next day and doubled our order.

Maybe third time’s the charm? Once more with feeling?

Years ago I visited a small eatery in Olympia that served me a soft-shell crab sando. When I went back looking for it last year I stopped here and while the staff couldn’t help me they offered me this dish. An incredible flavor fiesta!
