Foods That Are Better Stale

Mmmmmm, that reminds me, I put away a pack of Peeps that might be ripe by now!

And Circus Peanuts are only good when they go ‘snap’ when you break them!

Mm, mm! Wonder what else is in the back of the pantry? Hee hee hee!

What?? No one’s mentioned just plain ole’ marshmellows yet? Stale marshmellows are, truly, the foot of gods. Open a bag, make a couple smores (note: it doesn’t work so well in microwaves), leave the bag (closed, because of ants) for about a month…mmmmmm…chewy goodness…

Yes, yes they are.

Bread used for French toast. That’s why the French call it “pain perdu”, or ‘lost bread’.

they are essentially a form of plastic foam insulation made of pure sugar They are yummy. Especially when stale.

I second that. Mmm - chewy!

Peeps, Marshmallows,and circus peanuts definatey

Pizza left on the counter overnight. The crust tastes perfecto!

All of these posts and no one has mentioned Red Vines yet?

For those of you on the east coast, Red Vines are Twizzlers that taste good.

Twizzlers that taste good? What a great idea.

Shit.

Amp, I agree with you wholeheartedly, especially on rootbeer and Sprite.
Isabelle, spot on with the pizza remark.

I’ll add that microwave popcorn is so much better if you make it at night and then eat it for breakfast the next morning.

sorry, cant think of anything…

Oh, come on you guys! Circus Peanuts? Those things weren’t edible the day they came out of the factory and they only get worse over time! I shudder when I think of how my Grandpa used to get me to eat those things.

Anyway, I think Macaroni and Cheese tastes good after it’s been in the fridge a while and then re-heated.

Homemade veggie soup.

Definitely cheezy poofs.

Lollipops or hard candy that have gone opaque and chewy - ummmm!

Licorice! The staler it gets the better it tastes. And lasts a hell of a lot longer too. I’ve eaten “ropes” that were over 4 years old and thought I’d found Nirvana.

Lasagna, but I prefer the term “aged” rather than stale.

M&Ms. They’re less crunchy, more melt-in-your-mouth after spending the night in a bowl on the coffee table.
