It’s just that pizza seems to be one of few foods that fail to make me feel full, even when I eat a whole bunch of it.
(FTR, I’m one of those people who hates the bloaty ickiness of feeling “full”, and so am rarely able to finish most restaurant or fast food meals. It’s usually only when I can control my own portion sizes that I can clean a plate. Unless the plate is full of fried corn. Then I’m willing to endure the “full feeling” just for the pleasure of getting there. But I digress.)
Last week I ate a whole medium cheese pizza by myself at one sitting. Not a ton of food, really, but afterwards I felt like I could easily have eaten another.
Today, after I’d already eaten my lunch, my boss ordered pizza for a meeting he was hosting here in the office.
There were leftovers.
I’ve already had five pieces.
And am not feeling the slightest bit bloaty. I could actually go for a couple more. Too bad the only pieces left are Hawaiian.
Are there foods that fail to make YOU feel full, no matter how much you eat?
I can easily over eat Thai, Chinese and Korean food. I never get full. When the waiter comes to serve the rice I always feel like “oooh that is not enough”
I can eat a whole lot of popcorn before filling up on it. Usually I just fix a bag in the microwave and quit when it’s gone. But I could keep eating it as long as somebody filled up the bag or box or tub or tank.
If I crack them one at a time (as opposed to the kind already cracked and put in bags) I could eat pecans, peanuts, pistachios, almonds, walnuts, scalybarks (hickory nuts), all day long. I have never had a cashew in the shell. Never even saw one that way. I’d add it to the list otherwise. Same for Brazil nuts. In other words, any nut you have a shell for, except coconuts. One does me there.
I hear you on the hot wings, Filthy Beast (nice username, BTW). What saves about 196 of those chickens, as far as I’m concerned, is that before long I get grossed out by eating meat from a bone.
I’d have to say donuts! I don’t eat many, but they bring them into the office everyone once in a while and I could easily eat half a dozen or more boston creams without batting an eye!
I’m with y’all on the hot wings…somewhere out there is a flock of legless and wingless chickens that lost their appendages to the great god of BBJ’s tummy…
pasta…I can normally only eat about half a plate of everything else at Applebees, Chili’s or ect., but I can also finsih the pasta, and have room for dessert
Ben and Jerry’s “Brownie Batter” ice cream… usually their ice cream fills me up, but with this one I can eat the whole tub and then regret not having bought two!
