Foods that have gone away...

Chocolate Cool Whip was test marketed here. It was like a light chocolate chiffon or mousee. I guess it didn’t sell, but I loved the stuff.

/Homer Simpson voice/ Mmmmmmmmm…space food sticks. And Carnation Breakfast Bars.

Oh, I remember those. What were they called? Big Buddy? Was that it?
Screaming Yellow Zonkers! I loved that stuff!
Danish Go-Rounds! Finally, someone other than me who remembers them! They were like Pop-Tarts, but better.

Another food I miss is Squeeze-Cheeze. No one around here carries it. I even tried to get the local grocery store to special order it but they couldn’t even find it listed with their suppliers. That canned “Easy Cheese” just doesn’t do it for me.

<<<<Quote from Feynn “Beeman’s gum. If I ever catch the bastard who decided to discontinue the best chewing gum ever made I am going to cut him a new one.”>>>>

Beeman’s is available in my area, or at least several times per year.

<<<<Quote from bouv “Sugar Dadies! The caramel pops that hade the power to pull out your teeth! Remember those? Man, I swear I came so close to losing permanent teeth with those things.”>>>>

Again, available here and still tough and chewy enough to pull fillings.

I’ve heard if you pour regular pepsi through a britta water filter it will become clear. Never tried it.

Sadly, no. Shake a Pudding and Danish Go Rounds were rare exceptions in my mother’s relatively non-junk-food-oriented buying habits. Oh, wait – what about Pizza Spins? Truly foul!

It was a rice dish.
It may have been Uncle Ben’s.
It was chicken flavored. SO good.
Gone.

I also miss Jell-O 1-2-3.

Also some frozen french fries that were onion flavored, but made out of rice.

Anyone seen any Fizzies lately?

 I still have 5/6th of a jar of that horridly sweet junk, simply because I couldn’t possibly let it go to waste. Freddies still carries it. Where should I mail it to? :stuck_out_tongue:

Probably only for export to third world countries. I used to love those things. Remember the little red spot on the end, to indicate that the cigarette was lit? Or was that supposed to be a lipstick stain? And those great, realistic cigarette packs!

Indeed it is.

And only $5.59 for a six-pack!

Peach Soda- Somebody please bring back peach soda
Arch Deluxe- Am I the only person who liked this?
Priazzo(sp?) Pizza- Pizza Hut sold this years ago. It was real pizza pie!
Mug-a-Lunch- My god! The Macaroni and chesse variety was one of the best things I’ve ever eaten.

Well since I am the resident soda expert, apparently, try here or here.

Also, if you click the search button on that site and enter “peach soda” you’ll get a couple more of them that are out of stock, in case Nehi and Stewart’s aren’t your brand of choice.

I too loved the oven-donuts that Ywalker mentioned.
Pineapple crush…mmmm… and Strawberry crush.
Screaming Yellow Zonkers were cool but what I really want back is the fat-free Crunch’n’Munch. I love fat-free caramel popcorn because fat-free means no nuts!

There is a message board dedicated to “lost foods” called the Dead Food Board. A fun group of people!

Chef Boy-Ar-Dee Mini-Bites. I loved those things so much, and no stores in my area carry them anymore.

I LOVED the Arch Deluxe! The craked pepper sauce and bacon made it the best fast-food sandwich ever!

Maybe if enough people wrote to McDonald’s they’ll bring it back? Maybe?
Meh, probably not.

**Pepsi Lite[b/] available in the light blue can with the yellow lemon slice on it.

**Tab[b/] in the pink can.

mini-cans - I bet you havn’t thought about these in a while. They were about half the size of regular cans and were produced by most all cola companies. My mom used to get them for me as a kid(in the 70’s) because I could never finish a whole can. Good lookin’ out, Mom!

I loved candy cigarettes.
Nice way to get the kids thinking about smoking eh?

Snack N Cake.
It was the best.

Candy cigarettes ar now called “Candy Stix,” I’ve seen them in gas stations.

When I was in Maine last ( a loooong time ago) they had, at there local McDonalds (I swear I am NOT making this up) McLobster. Any Maine Dopers out there to confirm this? Do they still have it?
