Foods that taste better cold

meatloaf. in a sandwich on sliced sourdough with mayo.

Meat pies. Fried chicken. Most kinds of pasta. Meatballs.

Pretty much everything that everyone’s already mentioned, except for the spare ribs. When all that yummy juice solidifies, you realize it’s, uh, fat.

Lamb. Like, for instance, a nice Greek-style leg of lamb, roasted with garlic and lemon. Some meat is worthless reheated, and this is one of them. And that’s strange, isn’t it? It tastes fabulous when it’s first cooked and served, but after the leftovers are refrigerated, it just ruins it to be reheated. I’ve noticed the same thing with pork, too, like with a pork loin. Something about being reheated with this meat just doesn’t work.

Okay, now that I’m thinking through pulling leftovers out of the fridge and what I heat up and don’t heat up, let me add chicken to that list. Leftover chicken, like fried chicken, is awesome out of the fridge, but is ghastly reheated.

Heck, this is almost a second category - “Leftovers that taste better cold than reheated.”

Cow tongue. Much, much better cold.

Lessee here…

Pizza, pasta, chicken (especially fried), turkey, pork chops, mashed potatoes (it’s a consistency thing), and most non-rice chinese food are all superior the next morning after having spent the night in the fridge.

Just MHO, mind you.

LC

Fried chicken, salmon, mangoes.

'Taters.

Seriously. Boiled potatoes, cold, sliced thin, on pumpernickel, with freshly ground black pepper, a sprinkle of salt, and chives.
Divine.

Fried chicken definitely. I almost prefer it cold.
A slab of roast beef, with mustard, between two slices of bread.
Or a slab of turkey, with cranberry mustard, between bread slices.
Also in the sandwich category-tuna salad and egg salad-but I guess no one really serves them hot.

Cuban sandwich

Ruffles 'tato chips are good straight from the fridge. Not that you usually heat them, but chilling adds a little something. Oh, and beets. Otherwise I refuse to touch most cold food, blech, it’s all congealed.

Ok, first, there is no god so how in the hell did he make any decision about temp? Sheesh…

I prefer cold food mr jim. I despise hot anything. Hot coffee angers me to the point of an outburst. Luke warm is the way to go.

Religion free is the answer…learn it and live it…Do it for yourself…

Brie cheese

Sushi, :stuck_out_tongue:

Alright seriously, for me, I prefer all my vegetables cold. Some people like steamed broccoli and carrots. Not me. Raw is the only way to go. I also much prefer ice coffee way over hot coffee.

Well, I’m a vegetarian now, but in my youth I LOVED cold fried chicken and cold roast beef. The roast beef had to be eaten without bread, just the beef and a ton of ketchup.
I’m pretty sure there’s no tofu version of roast beef. :frowning:

Taco Bell’s Bean Burritos. After sitting in the fridge overnight, they make the best breakfasts!

Barbequed hamburgers, as in home-made patties left after a big barbeque at home. There’s just something so tasty when they’re cold.

Skipping things that 47 or so people have mentioned already, I always preferred my mom’s zucchini parmesan later that night, when it was cold. The texture was better then, when it wasn’t all just one big oozy molton mess. Anything with mozerella cheese on it, actually, I always liked better cold. I can’t stand the texture of melty mozerella.

Well, what I like to do, is early in the morning, have a breakfast that involves taking a slice of pizza of questionable vintage, piling some leftover chinese food on it, and pouring leftover gravy on the whole thing. Meaty, cheesy goodness.

Prawns. Strawberries. Tuna pasta.

Cadburry Cream Eggs…I absolutely LOVE these things, but when they’re cold, and the cream is all solidified…Mmmm-MM, them’s some good eats!

Also, M&M’s.

Shit, basically anything chocolate.

On a more healthier note, I prever any vegetable raw then cooked or boiled or whatever (with the acception of corn and beans and the like). But carrots, celery, bell peppers…they just tend to lose their flavor when they’ve been cooked. Except onions…I like grilled onions.

Sweet & sour chicken/shrimp.

I also like York or Junior mints frozen.
