foolsguinea, get your worthless self down here.

In a thread about the Clippers, after the owner was saying all the hateful stuff. I can’t remember the name of the doper. It was a long name. Helpful, huh?

Well, I certainly don’t blamed you for being startled. I was positively shocked at all the Jews on that list. Why, even though most of them were dead, that’s still one heck of a lot of Jews!

And the huge preponderance of Jews (not that we can tell who exactly in the much decentralized world of entertainment are Jews and who isn’t (probably they’ve Americanized their names or something)) is certainly worth discussing. Some people want to sweep it under the rug, but we have a right to wonder why there’s such a huge preponderance of jews and what it signifies. Really, who can imagine that there’d be so many Jews and not have it count for something, know what I mean?

Right, maybe it doesn’t matter and maybe it’s of critical importance. But we’re not going to get anywhere not wondering and theorizing and discussing it, in fact there should be a national conversation about Jews running or not running Hollywood.

That’s the way I feel and no one should be called an anti-Semite for just asking questions, even if no one called them that because we all know that’s what it’s all about really, know what I mean?

What I really want to know is why there are so many dead Jews running Hollywood.

That’s why they made Dead Poets Society.

It’s an in-joke.

chicagowhitesox1173. He’s a dumbfuck.

He’s a Sox fan. That should have been enough to tell anyone that he’s a dumbfuck.

-Superdude, proud Cub fan since 1984.

Yes, he does sound, “special”.

First they came for the Dadaists and I said nothing, for I was not an stuffed aardvark wearing a corsage of taps on a burning harpsichord.

X-L-N!!! Thanks for my biggest laugh in days!

Was it him? Or was it Stink Fish Pot?

I was thinking it might have been that dude who came here from the one racist website, and started a thread in the Pit saying, “Hi, I’m a racist, ask me anything”, then got all butthurt when people flamed him.

Disregard this. I just started rereading that NBA/Sterling thread, and got to Soxboy’s participation.

You’re way off base here. Are you seriously saying that to understand is to extenuate? It is nothing of the sort, it is simply to understand. Understanding does not preclude condemnation and it’s quite bizarre that you should think it does.

There’s probably also a Pointillist joke to be had somewhere.

Then they came for the Pointillists and still I said nothing, for I hadn’t been spotted.

Probably not me.

Bullshit.

I dislike repeating myself, but this is simply a variant on one of the classic defenses of these types of speech, and it’s incredibly cliched. As I noted earlier:

What does this have to do with understanding why someone said something? Saying you understand why someone said something is NOT a defense of what that person said. Or are we using English differently here?

Understand: Have knowledge of why something was done.
Condone: Agree with something that was done.

Indeed. If you don’t understand how your enemies think, how can you defeat them?

The first dozen times or so, it can be helpful to have examples of how bigoted dimwits think.

After a few hundred or thousand repetitions, any usefulness declines dramatically.

You think the people who hate your people came to their views through* thought*?
