The Sony email hacks are entertaining as to how the movie making sausage factory actually works and show Sony Pictures having a primarily Jewish upper executive staff (see linked list of executives below) and at least 50% of the upper level executive emails are Sony Jewish executives talking to movie industry Jewish writers, directors and talent managers. They are certainly a number of non-Jews in the email mix, especially in the talent area, but the presence of Jewish movie executives as the gatekeepers and deal makers seems overwhelming especially in light of their relatively modest slice of the US population.
McFarlane’s joke setup may have been tasteless but was it actually wrong?
In my experience, when people say that Jews control Hollywood, they are not just saying that there are lots of Jews in the industry, they are saying that these Jews in Hollywood consciously advance the interests of “Jews” in some coordinated fashion and attack other groups to maintain the status quo. However, evidence that there are many Jews in Hollywood says nothing by itself about the truth of the latter claim, and I have yet to see any evidence presented in favor of the latter claim that isn’t laughable.
Generally steering as clear of Sony as I would Microsoft — nothing I gave ever read of them instills trust — I would have assumed Sony anything would have around 90% Japanese management.

Sony Pictures is an American subsidiary of Sony Corporation. It is based in Culver City California. It came from Sony’s acquisition and merger of Columbia Pictures and Tristar Pictures. So an American company owned by a Japanese company.
Right. Most teachers are women, but no one would say “Women control education”. The problem with the whole “Jews control Hollywood” is that it hints at some Zionist conspiracy that deliberately runs the industry as a whole, and that the various Jewish people in power at various studios subsume their own interests to those of this conspiracy.
Hell, historically immigrant Jews created Hollywood.
Of course the sensitivity is because the “Jews control [fill in the blank]” bit (and many blanks can be justified when uses “represented in positions of power well outside their general population numbers” criteria) has been a standard go-to to justify many Jewish conspiracy plots and more.
Yes, there are many Jews at the top levels in Hollywood … and in media, popular music, and in finance, and in literature, and in a wide variety of sciences and economics, especially at the Nobel Prize level … over-represented in politics of all stripes pretty much too, neocons to communists.
It is pretty hard to deny that there are Jews at least second in command all over the place (relative to their numbers), especially in America. Too bad that when you get two Jews together you get ten opinions … we end up with too black books delivered by too many helicopters and no one remembers that I wanted mine to come with the chicken soup with kreplach dammit. “Helicopter pilot, taste my soup!”
True. In the Sony emails the main action was Jewish upper level executives fighting with and sniping at other Jewish players. “Cooperation” was not the main item on the agenda.
Indeed. The collapse of the whole ‘jewish conspiracy’ thing is that it’s clear that no one espousing such views has SEEN three jews trying to resolve anything of consequence.

It’s not that McFarlane was wrong, he was just considered out-of-line for SAYING what everybody knows.
Now, strictly speaking, it would be more accurate to say “Hollywood is largely controlled by Jews” than “Jews control Hollywood.” That is, I’ve never seen Hollywood pushing any kind of recognizably Jewish agenda.
But as a practical matter, every big Hollywood studio has a Jewish boss, and almost every major American media corporation has a Jewish CEO.
Ask some Jewish Hollywood big shots OFF the record, and they’ll probably laugh, “Of COURSE Jews run this business!” But if anyone else says such a thing publicly, those big shots will claim to be offended.
Almost all of the most powerful people in show biz are Jewish. It’s just considered bad form to notice.
I had a friend who decided to go on a rant one day about how the Hollywood bigwigs and studio owners were mostly Jews. My response was “So what?”. He couldn’t understand why I wasn’t outraged by this, and I couldn’t understand why he was.
We weren’t friends for too long afterwards (not just for this reason, we just had opposite views on a lot of different things).
Hollywood is doing great, I love many of the movies that I watch and can easily ignore the ones I don’t. Most of it is liberal and most of it presents a lifestyle that I want to emulate. If Jews run Hollywood I say let them, they’re doing a great job
As for the OP, I have to roll my eyes at the link complaining there aren’t enough black people or women in the upper management of Sony. I personally do not have any issue with the fact that certain types of people tend to congregate within certain industries unless you can demonstrate there is some kind of organized conspiracy to discriminate against others.
I am a physician, so I have seen this in my own industry. I am sure most Americans have noticed that American medicine has a disproportionate number of people from the Indian subcontinent and, to a lesser extent, more Jews than one would expect from a random sample of the US population.
I don’t think there is (at this point in history at least) a widespread conspiracy to keep other groups out of medicine. I believe there are mostly cultural reasons for why more people of Indian or Jewish descent tend to go into medicine than others. Of course, there is something to be said for having the opportunity to get to know the important people in an industry and be mentored by them - so of course if the dean of admissions at the medical school knows your family because both of you are Jewish and you go to the same synagogue, you may very well have an advantage compared to someone who has no personal connection. However, I don’t really consider that unfair in itself. That’s just how life works in a free society.
Yes those crafty Jews. Valuing education and having close knit families. Inspiring their children to take up professions in which they can become rich and powerful. Banding together like a tribe when threatened by outsiders despite their internal disagreements. They almost act like they had made a deal with God himself up on a mountain top.
Saying “the Jews control Hollywood” implies that there’s some sort of planning going on. It’s not that a Jewish guy starts a studio for the purpose of making money. It’s that he wants to control the media to advance the interests, not of himself, but of the Jews. And Jews get jobs in the media, not because that’s what they’re interested in and passionate about and talented at and make money at, but because they want to control what Americans see and read and hear about Jews. Same thing with Jews controlling banking. The implication is that they consciously advance the interest of Jews as a class over the interests of non-Jews as a class.
That there are lots of Jews in Hollywood and banking isn’t BS, but saying they “control” those industries is BS.
