Football - what is an "offensive quality control coach"?

From this article http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2009/writers/peter_king/05/17/nfl/index.html?bcnn=yes the author (Peter King) is discussing coaching changes at the Colts.

“The only relatively new kid on the block will be Frank Reich, who moves from offensive quality control coach to quarterback coach.”

This is the first time I’ve heard the term “offensive quality control coach”. What it is?

Many thanks.

He’s the guy who reviews all the video and grades each player on each play.

EL gives the official line.

In pratice, it’s where you stick the offensive coordinator’s kid/head coach’s son-in-law; Jay Gruden, for example.

Unless you’re talking about the Pats, in which case it’s where the guy who’ll be the head coach of Shitty Midwestern Franchise X in two years got his start.
