For 1st time since early in the Season: Yanks are back in 1st

The Angels are fucking this up. They fucked up seriously last night and they’re not doing much better now. Ever heard of a strike, Santana?

Someone needs to teach Scioscia how to make a goddam lineup.

Can A-Rod get a big hit, you know like a RBI? If Yanks lose he is in the running for Goat.

Because you are the one making the extraordinary claim. It seems to me that a reasonable default assumption—Occam’s Razor, if you will—is that Major League Baseball sets its own schedule. If you want to assert that they don’t, then some evidence is necessary.

And i don’t understand why you see this as an attack. I’ve already conceded the likelihood that FOX has some input into the schedule; i was merely contesting your assertion that they set the schedule and could “flip games at their demand.”

Well, i tend to assume that people will tell the truth about stuff like this. If you did tell me that you had called MLB, then i would believe you. Just like i believe lieu. This does not, of course, mean that lieu’s word on the issue is final; it simply means that he has provided one piece of evidence that needs to be evaluated with all the rest. Furthermore, his evidence comes directly from someone connected to one of the organizations concerned.

Yeah, that’s what it is. You’ve uncovered my master plan.

Yankees won’t lose. Not with Dick Bavetta behind the plate there giving Mussina a six foot strike zone and refusing to call even a pitch right down the middle a strike for the Angels.

Those Yankees smashing into each other to turn a fly-out into a triple is one of the most beautiful things I’ve ever seen.

Well you gotta be loving this then.

This is very depressing.

Hee hee.

Great catch by Matsui. What’s up with those Angel fans? They should have kept him from getting it.

Moose blew it with a big assist from the collision, now its redemption time for Randy.

At least that was a quick out.

Ah, I hate it when people gloat over a victory and rub people’s noses in it. But with the Yankees, I got no scruples.

Still a lot of innings. Let’s see what happens. If the score holds up, I’ll be back for a little shcaudenfreud. In the meantime, I’ll look up the correct spelling.

schadenfreude = (shäd’n-froi’d) Pleasure derived from the misfortunes of others.
Here’s hoping that you don’t get any tonight.

Just need 4 runs over next 5 innings. It is very possible.

110,000 Michigan fans have given me all I need for the week. The month, even.

BTW schadenfreude is now closely associated with Nelson Muntz of the Simpsons, you know the Ha-HA kid. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nelson_Muntz

It’s up to the kid again.

Well Randy is doing his job and Jeter hit a nice Homer, now we need everyone else to pick it up.

And so the once invincible fall…

And so it ends, A-Rod is officially the goat!!! :frowning:  :frowning:  :frowning:  :wally

Ha-ha!!!

Damn. Haw-haw is already taken.

In your face, Space Coyote!

What a great game. What a great postseason so far. Tip my cap to the Yankees, they put up a hell of a fight.

Well done Anaheim. Good offense, very good defense-you deserve to move up. That said, Go Sox.

Sometimes the bounces go one team’s way, and they went for the Angels in game 5. But Sheffield, Matsui, and A-Rod had plenty of chances to come through. Let’s go White Sox.
