For all you Rube Goldberg fans:

Best car commercial ever:

Let’s try that again:

Thanks for the reminder, I wanted to use this in my intro to design class next semester. I always assign a Rube-Goldberg design problem and many kids don’t know who Rube-Goldberg is anymore.

Actually, this is one of the best things ever.

Haj

Just for the record Rube Goldberg is one person and that’s his first and last name.

Actually, dejahma. outside the US, isn’t this kind of contraption better known as a Heath Robinson artifact? I know I have a book of Heath Robinson cartoons, but no Rube Goldberg cartoons…

Dang. I’m getting a black window with sound effects. Is it that Honda commercial?

You wanna intorduce them to Rube Goldberg, dejahma,, just find an old game of “Mousetrap” and let 'em play that!

Same here, I’m assuming that there’s supposed to be a picture…

oops. I do know that Rube Goldberg was a single guy. Don’t know why I put the dashes in. I had the Mousetrap game when I was a kid and Dejahda bought one for the kiddies several years ago, but we can’t find it anymore.

Sunspace: I’m from the us but will look up Heath Robinson. Thx for the tip.

heck out Paul Spooner sometime.

uh ‘check’

Yes, it is that Honda commercial. If this link doesn’t work either, then try googling for “honda ad.” By the way, it all happened just as you see it. No computer effects or clever editing. Here’s an article about it

Snopes has a link to it that is a flash video. It loads faster and works if you have Flash player installed.

TJdude825 that’s a great article, thanks. Funny, my brother thought it was CG modified as apparently many others did. I never thought so. I once saw a special on PBS that had a Rube Goldberg contraption that lasted about 20 minutes. Incredible. I’m surprised it took so many takes; I used to build these things as a kid and was always surprised how consistently they worked once I got them set up properly.

I’m sure it worked consistently once they got it set up properly, as well… it’s the setup that is a pain.

That was cool.
