It’s called “cruising” in the States. It means driving around looking for prostitutes.
“kerb” is the British spelling of “curb” BTW.
Silly me. I came in here thinking “Wow, I’m not the only Marillion fan!”

It’s also one of Private Eye’s more colourful contributions to English slang. At least, I think it was PE that first printed it.
Notice, also, that cruising is only just now illegal in the UK. Meaning, of course, that if you went looking for prostitutes, it was OK unless you actually found one.
