For Marx Brothers completists

The Incredible Jewel Robbery is online on Shout-TV.

It’s one of the last appearances of Harpo, Chico, and Groucho together (though Groucho only has a cameo). It’s basically a silent film. Not their best work, but with a few amusing moments.

Introduced by Ronald Reagan, who mispronounces “Chico.”

How does he pronounce it? Chick-o is the one the brothers used, but Cheek-o is quite common.

It was always pronounced “Chick-O” officially, though the other was common.

Completists (who, moi?) have had their hands on this since Shout released The Marx Brothers TV Collection in 2014. Three discs of incredible rarities. Good price.

I misread the Thread title as Four Marx Brothers completists and was disappointed to open the Thread and see no mention of Zeppo.

Meh.

Wake me when someone finds a copy of Humor Risk.

I always wanted to see Chico play bridge on a tv show.

Still I’m glad this was released. I’d rather have things officially released than not.

I saw it. It was the first time I heard of Chico. Everybody knew about Groucho from You Bet Your Life, and Harpo was an icon, but when I was growing up, Chico was not mentioned outside of the films, which were hard to see.

It was on Charles Goren’s show.
