I carelessly agreed to become a moderator on another board. Now the administrator wants me to come up with a set of guidelines for sell/trade ads.
If I post a “sticky” on the board saying, to the effect, “use at your risk, the message board admins do not take any responsibility for any trouble that might occur,” would that be legally binding and safe enough for the admins?
And if so, can someone here help me translate that into legalese, or point me towards someone else’s similar disclaimer which I can use as a template?
Not sure about that, but if you are going to an admin/mod on a board where offers are made, may I suggest you creat another message board for feedback threads? That way if someone is pleased with doing business with someone else, they can reccomend him elsewhere, and if you’re wary about doing buying something from someone, you can see what others said about them. IGN does this, and they have few problems (Link) .
