For something sorta bad, it worked out about as well as I could hope.

Sorry taxi I’ve been preoccupied with appreciatin’ employee stuff. It is cool you got to have lunch with Anaamika. A lunchtime mini dopefest sounds like a ton o’ fun. Hey Anaamika! Come in and visit us here some time.

Well here I am! I do visit you guys occasionally but sometimes I feel like I don’t have the right, um, mindset for MMP. Like I’m too boring or something. Anyway, we had a good time at lunch. And I can say this next part, because I’m a straight girl and therefore not stalking her:

taxi78cab looks *really * pretty in pink.

Okay, I’ll say it: cite?

And Anaamanabobana, I’ve read your postings elsewhere. You’d be a fine regular contributor 'rounds here.

Hey Taxi! Come on, fork it over.

Well, thank you! I’ll try to join in more often, then!

Anaamika, there ain’t nuttin’ to postin’ in the MMP. It’s all kinda stream of consciousness, hijack the OP and run with it stuff. You can pretty much just come on in and post whatever’s runnin’ through your mind at the moment, be it what you ate for lunch to the Gettysburg Address, if that’s what you happen to be thinkin’ at the moment. I contribute TMI. I do that especially for FairyChatMom cause she can’t get enough TMI. Or chandeliers.

Uh-oh. The only pix in my photobucket account right now are kitties. You’ll just have to make due with cute pictures of my puss - I mean kitties .

Oh and thank you! ::blushes furiously::

This is a very good policy Rue. Walking around without lifting your feet makes sparks. Zap-pow!

Hey, between DogMom thinking it’s a day ahead, and my thinking it’s a day behind, we’re right on time. Which is good because I have a hair appointment and I do not want to miss it. My stylist (this always sounds too hufty pufty, but it’s not like hair cutter person is any better), was in an accident and then it was her vacation, so I haven’t had my hair cut in ages. I’ve got curly hair sproinging all over the place up here on my noggin.

Yay, it’s friday! I still like friday even though we’re on summer break. Never turn down a chance to celebrate, I says. Okay, I don’t actually say that, but I think it really hard.

The MMP puts up with me. You’ll do fine.

Yeah. Anaamika, they let me post, and they don’t even complain. It’s amazing.

I am waiting for Mr. Lissar to leave so I can do chores very efficiently. Sweeping around someone who’s getting ready for work is not good. And it’s enough bother to have the cats help.

I bought fizzy grapefruit pop, which I think might go very well with lime juice and vodka later, after I’ve finished all the housework. I’m making a lamb/rosemary/tomato stew type thing for my next few dinners. It’s a weekend, so Mr. Lissar will be working 12 hour shifts, and eating at work. I am alone! Well, except for Quasi-Daughter, Lazy Husband, Driving Husband, and Attacks Husband. And the cats.

Well, my week is out of whack in a good way. I went to see the preview of Serenity last night, and here is an open spoiler: It is terrific!!!

I’m normally in bed by 10, and that is when the preview started; and I intended to take today (Friday) off. But with this movie, it is impossible to be sleepy. I got home by 1 am, and then got up before 6 because a client let me know yesterday afternoon that he would be coming by at 8!!! OHHHH NOOOOO!

As it turned out, like with most things you mildly dread, I was still full of good momentum from the movie, plus I really like this guy–he is always good to talk with–so I really didn’t mind going into work.

And, to tell the truth, I’m still on the Serenity spaceship. Did I mention that the movie was good?

Now I’m home, only worked a half day. So I get a sort-of long weekend. And I can dream about this movie I saw…

That could never happen.

Hey! Where’s Ex? (Why did I think of him after “boring” came up? Dunno.)

Oh wait, he’s on a Secret Mission or something, isn’t he? I miss Ex. Some.

If Rue himself is inviting me, it would be terribly rude to refuse.

Very well then - we’re going to see Lewis Black on Sunday! At the Palace Theatre in Albany. I can’t wait - I hope he rips on Albany weather.

I’m also doing some cleaning because I’m having a friend come up tomorrow night, who I haven’t seen in six years. She used to be my best friend, here’s hoping we can rebuild.

Thankfully she’s coming for dinner - so I can sleep in. Need that.

Hey, Anaamika, they let me post too and I just go on and on and on, blah, blah, yakkity-yak, etc, with nothing too important to say.

I’ve been wondering about ol’ **Ex ** too. First welby abandons us, now Ex. What’s up with that?!

Swampy, we just tell everyone it rains up here all the time, in the vain hopes of keeping all non-Washingtonian’s out of here and driving up the cost of housing, clogging up our roads, and generally causing us lots of troubles. This is our evil little plan, but it isn’t working too well. Somebody must have leaked the secret or something.

Well, I need to finish my salad and get some work done. They finally fixed my STOOOOPIT e-mail and I have a ton of catching up to do.

I’m five minutes away from my 3-5 shift on reception. I hate reception. I work in a middling-to-busy welfare office and I haven’t quite perfected the Zen of Don’t-Give-A-Crap that’s required to not have the line out the door behind the person you’re helping make you nervous.

[channeling FCM’s mom]You want something to do? Get a dust rag - I’ll give you something to do![/Channeling FCM’s mom]

The Little Woman roomed with her Best Friend Growing Up in college. It seemed like a good idea at the time to them. As it turned out, it wasn’t such a hot idea.

“But how can I tell my Best Friend I don’t want to live with her any more?” they both asked their then-boyfriends.
“If you don’t find a new roommate, you won’t be Best Friends anymore,” we told them.

Did they listen? It is to laugh.

The Great Falling Out lasted… uh… six years (hey, like you Anaamika!) and then they tried being friends again. (The Little Woman’s Best Friend Growing Up married my Best Friend Growing Up. Unfortunately they got married during the Off Time.)

It worked out nicely.

You certainly are uppity now that you’re beyond my easy smackin’ distance. :stuck_out_tongue:

Tupug, I love that catalog - I especially love this guy, altho I don’t love him $75 worth. If he goes on clearance, I’ll love him at a reduced price - ya think he’ll be marked down to $25? I could love him for $25.

Anaamika, I looooooooove Lewis Black! We have 3 of his specials on DVD - even tho I can recite most of his routines, I still love watching him. I’m jealous!

So, I’m home, and I’m doing laundry. Oh yes, I know how to whoop it up on Friday. A little later, we’re driving down to BJ’s in California and getting a membership - we got a $10 off coupon and when we had a freebie membership, I discovered that they had good deals on meat, so it was worth joining. So we’re going to join - more Friday night madness!

Incidentally, did anyone notice wonky TV or radio reception last night and this morning? We were trying to watch A&E and the History channel, and the signal kept getting pixelated and frozen and stuff. It might have been on more channels, too, but the others we switched to were OK. This is regular cable, so the prob was at the cable company, I’m pretty sure. Then this morning, all of my preset radio stations had lots of interference from other stations. I couldn’t hear Morning Edition or the BBC or even the boring oldies station. By this afternoon it was fine. I looked up solar flares on line and according to whatever site I googled, there’s no unusual activity. So I figure it’s either aliens or Republicans…

Anyone else have similar issues?

Hey, look - I made a Rue sammich! hehehehe

Cue the Twighlight Zone music-doo-doo-dooo, bah-bum-bum (or however it goes). Psst…it’s the aliens FCM.

I didn’t have wonky reception, but of course, I’m here on the OTHER coast.

Is it time to go home yet?
