In this thread hereSpider Woman asked me for a few limericks after she read my magnum opus called Fame. I live to oblige, so I wrote a few (okay, four) original creations.
And awaay we go!:
There was a flag, red white blue
whose colors shone so true.
One day it rained
the colors got stained
now pink is the dominant hue!
I once had a Pentium III.
I it thought was fast enough for me.
The new Quake came round’
and I suddenly found
the frames were slow enough to see!
I was reading works of fiction
where the authors used great diction.
I never once heard
of someone flipping the bird.
Yes, it is rather quite bitchin’!
There is an Uncle named Beer
who trolls have reason to fear.
He’ll knock 'em down
and drag 'em around
and his flames singe atmosphere!
There once was a spider from Texas
Who did reps on a Solo-Plexus
He beefed up every arm
But had to sound the alarm
When he couldn’t squeeze out of his Lexus
for not seeing these lovely original limericks from over nine months ago.
I was doing a search for limericks by Joey Hemlock, whom Bob (imthjckaz) and I just met today in company with the lovely chique (whom we don’t see nearly enough of). Joey Hemlock says we met at a limerick thread, and in trying to find it, I found these underappreciated efforts of ////Derleth\\'s.
Sorry I didn’t see them sooner. They are very fine.
There are only so many limericks that can be written about a Spider Woman. If anyone is in the mood for another limerick thread, that can be done also (hopefully when **TN*Hippie ** has time to post too). I pretty much resurrected this because I felt bad that I had not seen it originally and thanked Derleth way back in October of 2000.
