For the tattoo knowledgeable. . .

I’ve been contemplating a tattoo for quite a while and have quite a large collection of artwork and other tattoos that if were mooshed together would come out to be what I consider to be my perfect tattoo.

I would really like to get a dot work tattoo, I love the way the style looks. However I want (would like) a full color tattoo. I have seen very few dot work and color tattoos, maybe too. Does anyone know an artist that specializes in this? Is it possible to get a black and grey dot work outline/shading tattoo filled in with color, that effect could look pretty neat.

Any input is great! Web resources a plus!

… I am located in the northeast and willing to travel if anybody was wondering.

well if you are really really willing to travel I know a guy in Tacoma Wa…

you should check with some local artists, bring in the stuff you have with your ideas and chat with them a bit, see what they think. You will be able to find someone who can do your work.

for the above Tacoma guy, he is amazing at what he does and has won quite a few awards for his work. I went in with an idea and he took it and made it work, I have no complaints at all with his work. (Flaming Dragon ask for Scott)

also be sure to shop around, look for someone you connect with.

Well if you’re ever in Germany, check out Swastika-Freakshop. They do the most detailed & elaborate dot work tattoos I’ve ever seen.

I was gonna say that. Almost every day on ModBlog, there’s a Swastika Freakshop piece.

That’s exactly where I got the dot work idea, from seeing all the AWESOME pieces they put out, they are always on ModBlog. There website is always being re-done, but from what I’ve seen on BME they only really do black&grey dot work, sometimes with red highlighting in them, I haven’t seen full color pieces.
