Does this have any chance of making it?
If it does, gun owners aren’t going to be able to keep blaming the Democrats for everything.
Eh. They’re from the Chicago area and East Coast respectively. May as well be Dems.
That said, it’s a gimmick. I don’t think it’ll make it, and if it does, before the election, McCain may get a few more votes (not enough to tip the scales, but still).
Richardson is just one of many pro gun Dems. That is a broad spray gun you are painting with. Most western state dems are pro… same for southern.

Well, maybe not. All four seem to vote with the party most of the time. However, my guess about the bill itself is that it’s a fingertrap bill. They want to get as many Democratic reps as possible to vote for it, so they can use the votes in the coming campaign to mark them as anti-gun. If it actually nears passage, they’ll kill it with a poison pill (slip in an amendment that no Democratic rep can vote for.) I doubt it will make it out of committee.
Whoa. I have never heard of that tactic before. That’s insane! The wacky world of politics is more strategic than I thought.

There’s a little-known fact that all Truly Scottish Democrats are Republicans.
Or something like that.

Huh. What absolute bullshit. Where do my tax dollars go again?
Appendix ‘A’ is a list of about 600 rifles that won’t be banned.
For instance, the ‘Dixie Engraved 1873 Rifle’ won’t be banned. Thank GOD!
So, since they can’t define what an ‘Assault Weapon’ is, they are trying to define what it isn’t.
