Looks to me like he is just making a salary.
Bash on those who think he’s only in it for the money.

For fuck’s sake, Reeder, we need another fucking Moore thread like we need fucking holes in the head.
Did you know this? If not, you learned something. Fighting ignorance and all that you know.
Besides, what would be wrong with him pocketing the profits? He produced the film. It’s due to his skill, reputation and smarts that it’s making a bundle of money. He deserves to be rewarded for it.
You didn’t read the whole thing, did you?
So, contrary to your statements, Moore gets his cut first, then the charities and the Weinsteins split the rest 60/40. Hardly “just a salary”, eh?
Bolding mine.
You left out this part…
I never said he wasn’t getting paid. Just that he wasn’t getting all of it.
No, that was part of my quote. In any case, I wouldn’t expect Mr. Moore’s agent (or any agent, for that matter) to be above lying to protect his client’s image. My point is, this proves nothing. Maybe he’s not taking all the profits, but that sure doesn’t mean he’s not in if for the money–or even only for the money; clearly he stands to make a considerable amount for this film, wouldn’t you agree?
What? No he didn’t!
Daniel
And that’s not what you said, either: you said it looked to you like he was just getting a salary. Which was, according to your own cite, completely incorrect.
Jesus, man, can you try for a little more rigor in your posts?
Daniel
Reeder, why don’t you just go back to The Twilight Zone marathon. You’ve missed To Serve Man; it’s just ending. Your reading comprehension is abysmal this evening - not only of your link, but also of the replies to your OP.
Dear Mods,
Please stop closing down this idiot’s self-destructive ramblings. They’ve become one of my greatest daily joys to read.
Sincerely,
Bill
Actually, I’m chuckling over the irony of this deal, which Reeder (and everyone else) seems to have overlooked – the charities that will benefit from the Fahrenheit 9/11 donations will be ones selected by the Walt Disney Corporation.
It’d be ironic as hell if Disney turned around and tossed all that money into the coffers of “Move America Forward,” that conservative PAC that was trying to block F911 from being shown in the first place…
Heh–they might do that if ticket sales start to flag. Maybe they can’t directly spend that money on movie advertising, but this would be the next best thing.

“For those who think Moore is pocketing all the profits”
Has anyone claimed (here or anywhere in print) that Moore is “pocketing all the profits”, or did Reeder just invent some boogeyman to justify yet another Moore related thread?
Of course we all know the answer.
As a democrat who actually went to see the film, I say that I couldn’t care less about what Moore does with his money. It’s his money. It ain’t any of my business.
I don’t care how Ann Coulter spends her earnings either.
It never even occurred to me that Moore was pocketing the profits.
I did wonder, though, if he’d been eating them.
Well, I assumed he was. Isn’t that the default scenario, that a person gets the profits from his or her film?
the key word being “all”.
There are lots of scenarios (involving investors, for example) where a film maker does not get all of the profits from a film.
When you add that to “Bash on those who think he’s only in it for the money.” from the OP…you end up with a straw man.
Who (on the boards or elsewhere) is making the claim that Moore is (a) getting ALL of the profits from F911 and (b) is ONLY in it for the money (as opposed to say…oh I dunno…getting Bush out of office). If no one is making those claims than Reeder just built himself a cute little strawman.
Again.
Let’s not forget all the hard working bureaucrats and politicians who will rake off their fair share. From the top.
Interesting. As a democrat, why do you care so much about spending MY money then, like Hillary wanting to “take things away from me for the common good”. My money is my money, same as MM’s. You’re right, it ain’t any of your business. So keep your’re filthy, grubby, evil paws off of it, thank you very much.
