Well, I mean, I’m not leaving (I have WillFarnaby on ignore), but anyone coming here for intelligent discussion is not well-served by shitheads like this stinking up the joint. And then you see shit like this, which is like… Dude, he racked up three infractions for trolling, everyone and their dog knows he’s a shitty troll who offers basically nothing of value to the forum, just ban his stupid ass already.
I’d trade doorhinge, WillFarnaby, LAZombie, and octopus for one actual decent poster like JB or BrainGlutton any day of the week.
I interpret WillF to be sincere. I think it can be instructive to read his posts. If I posted on a forum where there were several like him pinging off each other, that could get irritating for me. Your sensibilities are vastly different than mine then. In most places if you were to have a group that hasn’t self selected yet, you’d be encountering considerably more of these impediments. I sometimes post on the politics subforum of a sports message board where around 80% are right-wing and the quality of experience is night and day because they play off each other in multiplying ignorance.
“Sincere” or not, he’s a fucking moron and I have yet to see anything useful or enlightening in his posts. What does it teach you, “libertarians are insane and probably evil”?
I have to admit finding it a bit fascinating how someone whose position is so utterly ill-placed to condescend to anyone seems convinced that he can condescend to everyone. It’s like every one of willfarnaby’s posts could be punctuated with a sneering duh! and an eyeroll.
I honestly though you were talking about Budget Player Cadet. Everyone’s favourite* abuser of underage learning-disabled girls adds nothing to any threads he comes to, even when not defending his behaviour.
*this punctuation mark is known as a “liesterisk”.
I haven’t seen his posts on it but, yes, that seems a sincere position that I’ve heard from people on both sides of the aisle. That doesn’t seem like such a controversial crazy statement to me.
Well, not everyone’s surely. The people you notice more are probably the ones who you most come into conflict with. I can’t offhand recall ever coming into conflict with BPC over anything memorable. I *have *been bemused by WillFarnaby’s Atlas-Shruggery on occasion in discussions of economics.
He may stand out here, but he’s just another devotee of that curious flavor of online “libertarianism” whose number one priority somehow became “pwning the libs.”
(Also encountered with many “centrists,” “moderates,” “concerned Democrats,” “NON TRUMPERS,” etc.)
The fragility of this individual cannot be overestimated.
He has no point of view. No insight. No style. He is a copy of a copy. You can find him repeating sentence-long platitudes and cliches as multi-paragraph posts.
It isn’t a crazy statement any more than saying Obama, Butcher of Yemen, was the peace candidate.
Ravenman lives in DC and speaks at a level above imbecile only when discussion turns to military equipment. I think we can safely guess what his motives are when it comes to peace.
I’d substitute “appeasement” for isolationism. Trump makes Neville Chamberlain look like Rocky Balboa.
I was just barely in the WillFarnaby Is Sincere, If Woefully Misinformed And Condescending camp. Then I saw some of his replies in this thread. Nah. Troll.
The basis for this thread is lame as hell. I made a little argument in favor of legalized blackmail. Some people are just too fragile and shouldn’t try to flame people on the internet. There were plenty of people who responded to the argument. This **JB99 ** fellow just had a breakdown or something. BPC is a manchild and exults in his fragility, whining that I exist even when he has the ability to ignore everything I say.
