Ford’s REALLY deluding themselves if they think they are gonna get enough people to pony up $100,000 for this car to make any money off of it.
Is it going to be $100K?
Even if it is, I believe they will not only sell out, but there will be a waiting list from production and go for more than MSRP.
Renault R5 Turbo2. Not very pretty but can perform like a Corvette at half the cost.
I believe they will only build 4,500, and there is no doubt in my mind that they’ll sell each and every one of them.
Jeff, I’ll see your R5, and raise you a Peugeot 205 Turbo 16, one of only 200 street-legal homologation cars derived from the monster that beat anything on four wheels in rallying during the mid and late 80’s. Oh, I want one. I want one BAD. Here’s one in California, selling for $60,000. Of course, it’s not too hard to tickle the heavily de-tuned engine to produce its original 450 BHP rather than the measly 200 the “stock” street T16 produces.
Coldfire eat myOctogon!
Whatsamatta, couldn’t afford a Metro 6R4?
Of course you could always go for an MGB. Much more attainable.
I’d go for the Saleen S7 or a Ferrari Enzo over a Cobra or Viper any day.
Of course, that’s part of the “If We’re Dreaming…” line.
