OK, not really. But what if? Here’s the scenario.

The Drumpftruck pulls up and unloads legislation to deny Social Security, Medicare, etc to terrorists and terrorist-sympathizers. Designed to rally Islamophobes naturally but for legal reasons the language is generified to some patriotic smell-test applied to anyone from another country, even naturalized citizens (to keep you safe).

Seems like we’re only a couple clicks away from something like this really.

I only bring this up because a FB connection keeps posting fake news and nazi-esque commentary. He’s originally from an Axis country (Hungary) and moved here after WW2 when all the nazis were run out by the Russians.

Now, I hate to sound like a jerk or anything but it would be just hilarious if Trump took his Medicare away! Ha ha ha!

Not all that far-fetched. Under Bush the younger, there was danger to people who sent money to various Palestinian relief organizations: the donors could have been arrested and charged with abetting terrorist organizations, given that some of the money went to relief for widows and orphans of suicide bombers. A perfectly innocent person, writing a charitable check, could have been arrested and charged with violation of a federal law.

That kind of thing could very easily be renewed under this new regime.

Trinopus: Holder argued for this at the Suprme Court, if you’re not aware. Congress passed the law preventing aid to terrorists organizations, and both Bush and Obama prosecuted it. I’m sure Trump will do the same.
