Forget the Moon Landing Hoax, how about THIS!

Alright, put down your models of the moon lander and listen up: it´s all about using cell phones on airplanes. You know how, well, you can´t? Well, is there really any reason for this?? The other day I took a cab and there were signs all over the car forbidding the use of cell phones because they might interfere with some electronic doo-hicky in the engine. A car ? Ridiculous, but a ´plane, well, mebbe, mebbe not.

Anyway, I heard, from my sister´s vet´s dog´s owner´s best friend etc etc, whom I know really well, that actually this ban has more to do with cell phone companies not being able to cost-effectively charge calls because the increments of time in which you may be over specific cell are too small. However there are millions of airmiles being flown every year and, and mucho dinari was going lost, so it was easier to pursuade the US airlines to just ban the telephones all together,(which had the added side effect of also cutting down on annoying cabin disturbance) than figure out a way of charging the many many tiny calls being made. Natch, if you make it a safety issue then any other airline wanting to fly into the US will also comply rather than be excluded.

Now, I know this sounds way off the wall, but has anybody heard anything like this at all? Google won´t help me, Snopes just plain doesn´t know, what to do?. I will now put my tin-foil hat back on and put my trust in the SD´s TMs.

Cell Phones/Electronic Devices and Airplanes might give you the answer you’re looking for.
(Or it might just raise more questions, I didn’t read the entire thread)
