Fork Hillary 3: The Final Forking

I saw that sentiment coming from a small handful of her supporters, in the comments section of an article about Kathleen Sebelius today. It’s despicable and stunning.

Personally,

I’d like to see Wes Clark team up with Obama too. It’s difficult to choose. Maybe sec. of Defense at least?

I need better evidence than that. Right now it’s in the category of Michelle Obama callin’ out the Whiteys.

WARNING INTENSE CORNYNESS
I really enjoy how happy Obama looks, and how IN LOVE he and Michelle are. It’s speaks volumes to where is heart is, where their hearts are. It will be a pleasure to watch every state of the union with him, to see him broker this country into a new world era. I’m psyched!!!

Did you see her mouth “I love you” to him after his speech? It brought tears to my eyes.

Hey, she kicked another hard-working woman out of the way to get her Senate seat, so why not?

Watching Terry McAuliffe’s earlier appearance on The Daily Show is bizarre. I don’t think Clinton is in denial, but this guy might be. He also wrongly projected a win in Montana, so that’s the planet he may be on…

I’m sure that sentiment didn’t come from Hillary, personally, but it’s definitely going through the ranks of her supporters.

This is fucking awesome. I’ve got no real beef with Hillary, but it’s hard to imagine why she’s behaving the way she is (and has been) rather consistently. Talk about a sore fucking loser. But then, they said the same thing about Gore.

I’m so incredibly proud of Obama. Can I say that? I’m proud of Barack Obama. I fell for him way back in the day, before he even officially decided to run. He makes me excited about the future of this country. I’ve never felt that way about a politician before in my life. I think he’s amazing.

Times like this make me wish I had TV. Just the thought of him in the White House… I get tingly.

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again: I’m very excited about this matchup. I was afraid going in that we’d get Giuliani-Clinton. Puke. As it is, I’m definitely for Obama, but we could do a lot worse than McCain.

What I’m really hoping for now is a clean, courteous campaign, so that [West Wing] we can have an intelligent, substantive national discourse.[/West Wing]

"Newsweek’s Howard Fineman just said on MSNBC at 8:35pm Eastern that the Clinton campaign is demanding that Hillary be offered the VP position, which she will then decline, and then Fineman quotes the Clinton campaign as saying “don’t you dare offer it to another woman.”

That’s nice but quoting an anon “Clinton campaign” is completely worthless. OK, sure, some low level staffer or volunteer, pissed off at Obama claiming victory could have said that. So? It’s not words of HRC or her Campaign.

This kinda of smug made up shit (on the part of his supporters, not him directly) is why Obama will have trouble winning in the fall, ebem though it should be easy for any Dem to be any Repub.

I watched Obama’s speech–and it was great, I also got a bit misty-eyed–but I missed the Clinton denial. Any link to that someone could recommend? I suppose I could hunt through you tube…

I think you reflect the feelings of millions of Americans and people around the world young and old alike. How could we not elect this man?! I’m so psyched!

For a short while before tonight I had been reconsidering whether Obama might not tap Hillary as VP after all for the pure and simple reason that she is indeed qualified to take the job of President on if something does happen to him. Her sore loser act tonight, her failure to comport herself in a manner that would best help the party after she has completely and absolutely lost, makes me more aware of how much he needs to show strength by dealing with her on his terms only, both to demonstrate that strength to the general electorate, and to not be weighed down by constant demands from her and her section of the party forever.

It occurs to me that the President has three jobs: Executive, Head of State, and Commander in Chief. McCain is running to be C-in-C, as he’s explicitly stated, Clinton was running to be Executive, as her strongest quality is that she’s an effective businesswoman, and Obama is running to be Head of State, as he’s playing hard to emotions and image.

Not to say he’s an empty suit, far from it. I think he was wise enough to pick the part of the job that’s going to resonate with a lot of people this year.

I hate to say it, but if he were white and named Barry Henderson O’Neill, he’d win in a landslide. As it is, he’ll have a fight, but from here it looks doable.

MSNBC just announced that Obama has surpassed 2210 delegates, which is 1 more than the number he’d need if Florida and Michigan were seated without penalty. What that means is, if he did choose to seat them in full, he’d actually have quite a few more than 2210, since the 2210 includes many Florida and Michigan delegates at half-strength!

Not that there was any doubt before, but there is definitively no math that will work for Hillary now – not even with an appeal to the Credentials Committee.

Senator Obama is impressive, but I’m watching to see how much he veers rightward towards the general election. As it is, he already does not stand by a number of progressive values, including full equal rights for GLBT people and the abolition of capital punishment; regarding the latter, I cannot vote for Obama until he comes around on that issue. The fact that a politician sounds radical for pledging to stand by * the concept of science* is more scary than commendable; nonetheless, I do find a number of the Senator’s statements quite refreshing, and despite the lack of ballsiness on certain issues, I believe him to have a deep honesty and a basic commitment to humanistic principles.

Basically, we’ll see.

G’Kar? Is that you?

One step at a time, my friend. One step at a time. On the chance that you’re not familiar with Barack Obama’s tireless fight to enact the most sweeping reform there’s ever been regarding the Death Penalty in Illinois, here is a link for your perusal.
