Fork Hillary 3: The Final Forking

You could argue it either way until now, but it should be evident to everyone watching that Hillary hurt the Democratic party tonight.

I hope they come down on her like a ton of bricks tomorrow. She had her chance to demonstrate that her critics were wrong, that she truly cares about the future of the country and electing a Democratic president, and that she means what she says about unifying the party. Instead, she merely demonstrated her own deranged, selfish narcissism (to borrow a quote from a CNN commentator).

She did not even admit she lost. Unbelievable.

On the plus side, I cannot imagine Obama offering her the VP slot after that colossal slap in the face.

I think it’s been said before.

(You knew that, but…)

After I heard that Hillary was holding the press conference in a basement without cell reception, I couldn’t stop thinking about Hillary’s downfall.

She’s in her bunker, talking to crazy sycophants, trying to fight battles with armies that no longer exist… she has become that video.

Well, I made it a point to visit her website, just like she asked, and voice my opinion that I think she needs to concede, gracefully, immediately. I’m hoping others do the same.

I’m also hoping that the focus on the General will just sort of wipe her into oblivion, hanging onto Obama’s coattails like a whingy little sister until everyone just forgets to keep talking about her. That speech was baffling.

Absolute, I kind of feels like he has to run with Hillary as VP in order to beat McCain. There’s been such animosity between Obama and Hillary supporters, I can’t imagine there being any other way to unify them besides running together. It blows my mind that two candidates who are so much alike in policy can be so divisive in support.

Frankly, I’d like an Obama/Hillary ticket. Hillary is being weird, but if she’s proven one thing, it’s that she’s a tough tenacious bitch. I think that’d be a valuable asset in the White House, making up for Obama’s (perceived) lack of experience/executive function. It seems like it would present the voters with a full package, and the Hillary supporters could overcome their hatred of Obama if it meant making Hillary VP.

Interesting side note: my husband thinks she’d make a good Secretary of State. What’re the odds of something like that happening?

The party and the Obama camp are afraid of Hillary; what she might do, her supporters, etc… They are GOING to give her SOMETHING, perhaps even VP. I have none of the confidence others here seem to have that Obama won’t offer it to her.

Yea, but, with Hillary as veep, she might as well be president. Throw in Bill, since it’s a package deal, and you’ll have a 4 year tug of war.

Which is why I pray it won’t happen, but I have that heavy, uncomfortable feeling in the pit of my stomach, especially after her speech, that she’s going to give Obama a closed-door ultimatum: “You either make me Veep, or you won’t get my voters nor my support. In fact, I’ll work to ensure your defeat.” Blackmail is such an ugly word.

Put Hillary on the ticket and the Republican masses will crawl over broken glass to vote against her.

Party leadership, as well as her colleagues in the Senate, would cut her off at the knees. She’d destroy her political career forever. She’d become persona non grata faster than you can say fuck off.

Wow, I’m completely excited for Obama! I get chills hearing him speak. These are better times for America. No fucking way is Obama going to offer Hillary the VP spot. Please, let me be right for once!

And that would be a bad thing how?
After tonight’s performance, I have not the least bit of sympathy for Hillary. The quicker she gets a stake through what passes for her heart, the better. The perfect scenario is the Democratic party uniting to put her down like a rabid dog.

The only thing I can imagine that would make me think twice about voting for Obama in November would be Hillary on the ticket. I would seriously have to think about that one.

He cannot offer her the Vice Presidency, given her behavior of the past several months. And she cannot accept it, if he is to win in November. That’s all there is to it.

Exactly so.

It would be the worst of all worlds for the Dems in my opinion. You’d get people who won’t vote for blacks voting for McCain, people who won’t vote for a woman voting for McCain, the approximate 50% of the country who hates the very sight and/or mention of her voting for McCain, and the people wanting change will feel disenfranchised and many will likely stay home .

I can’t imagine that someone as politicially astute as Obama appears to be going down that road.

I figure that this will play a big role. Remember, Obama runs the party now. It may take a few days, but it will play out the same way the super-delegate deluge did today. In the last few days it firmed up who was on whose side. There will be some hardcore politicking sessions to see who stands where. And that is most certainly going to shake out in Obama’s favor. She’s going to call around and see what her support level is and she’s going to realize that she has none, within the party.

Now she can do the ultimate in political suicide, and say, “I’m taking my people and fuck you” that is a very different thing. If she does this, she isn’t concerned with her future as a democratic politician. If she plans on going kamikaze, then what is the greatest amount of harm that she could do? That would be a convention floor fight. She won’t do a third party run. Who is goign to give her a stage? There’s no reason to. Nobody likes a spoiler. Her support will plummet as soon as she plays that role.

Democracy demands a faith denied to an agnostic. And yet…

Exactly what I was going to say.

Obama’s come this far fighting tooth and nail against her rhetoric and delusions, I think the General will show even more unprecedented campaigning from him without her, even still. He’s brought out the idealist in me again, and dampened the cynic. There’s nothing I’d hate more than to see him forsake the untarnished way he’s run his campaign so far than to offer that despicable woman a bone such as this. She’s made sure they clash, so let her sleep in the bed she’s made.

He can do better than her.

For anyone who’d like to see it, Obama’s victory speech from St. Paul (about 22 1/2 minutes long).

I missed it as it happened, and am going to watch it right now.
