On the eve of the WV primary, Obama is headed to Florida and Michigan to campaign!
What a hoot!

He’s going to be in my county in Michigan tomorrow! I’d really like to attend the event if I can, but I’m not finding any information other than news articles. Could anyone help me out?
Oh, and four more superdelegates for Obama today, including Rep. (and Senate candidate) Tom Allen of Maine. DemConWatch has his superdelegate lead at 8.5, and his overall lead at 172.5.
Also, I think Hillary has really dominated the rhetoric in this FL and MI talk. For them to be included remember that the rules have to be changed.
Despite the fact that she says it’s about counting every vote, we all know that what she wants is simple. Change the rules in my favor.
Liberal, I don’t know how old you are or where you’re from, but I am originally from Mississippi. I know a lot about the South and yes it is true that the racism down there is pretty veiled in a lot of settings. People just know better than to reveal themselves as a racist. Of all the people I’ve ever known who actually were racist, whenever they mention it, they have a kind of “hush hush” tone in mentioning it. Now you can easily find the random redneck who will drop the n-word at the drop of a hat, but only in the company of people he or she knows pretty well.
Honestly I think it’s a step up from the open racism that existed in the recent past. Honestly I think it has to do with school integration. It’s hard to hate a group of people when you grow up going to school with them. Sure it’s not all sunshine and unicorn farts, but it’s a damn sight better than it used to be. I think underground bigotry is okay because it’s a sign that it’s going away. At least it’s kind of taboo in Mississippi. Apparently in WV there is no taboo against racism.

What county are you in? I found this article saying he’s going to have a rally at Van Andel Arena in Grand Rapids on Wednesday. The article also says he’s going to “make a stop in macomb” county but doesn’t provide any more details. I haven’t found anything on the Obama website either.

Holy Crap! This is hilarious. Hillary’s own ad says this about the gas tax:

That IS hilarious! I knew her aides had been quoted as saying that; I just can’t believe someone goofed up and gave it a bit part in her own ad!
Hillary keeps playing the “Obama can’t win” and “sugar and spice and everything nice” cards, despite pleas from Democrats to campaign positively:
Clinton told patrons of Tudor’s Biscuit World in Charleston: “I keep telling people, no Democrat has won the White House since 1916 without winning West Virginia.”
[snip]
She quoted Eleanor Roosevelt, telling supporters: "A woman is like a tea bag. You never know how strong she is until she is in hot water."Obama, meanwhile, ignores her and describes patriotism to West Virginians:
“At a time when we’re facing the largest homecoming since the Second World War,” Obama said of veterans returning from Iraq and Afghanistan, “the true test of our patriotism is whether we will serve our returning heroes as well as they’ve served us.”
Pointing to the Bush administration, he said, “we know that over the last eight years we’ve already fallen short of meeting this test.” He cited once shabby conditions at such facilities as the Walter Reed Army Medical Center, and long waits and bureaucratic obstacles facing many who seek care from the Veterans Administration.

Well it is in a section that is supposed to show how Obama is attacking her gas tax plan. What cracks me up is what is in the body of the text of the “newspaper” article! Someone had some fun and put in an article about Troopergate!
Most people aren’t going to notice or read that little-bitty portion of text onscreen for maybe two or three seconds. I wouldn’t presume either sabotage or incompetence by the Clinton ad staff.
These ads don’t linger in the editing room for ages, either. There is a premium on getting it out there rather than scrutinizing each pixel. So they grabbed a few quick clips of the ads and put them in there.
In comparison to the lunatic policy that the ad is touting, this is minor incompetence at worst.
Sabotage? Nah. More like some some ad staff having fun seeing what they could sneak into the background. A little immature fun as the factory is about to close anyway.

Or maybe they’re one of the many contractors who Clinton stiffed on the bill.

The more I read about the Appalachians, the more depressing it is. They don’t even have the sense to deny being bigots. What a miserable bunch of useless, racist, toothless, banjo picking, rope belt wearing, squirrel munching, Ned Beatty raping, moonshine swilling, walking, talking stereotypes.

I really hope that this was some sort of failed attempt at humor.
I’m not sure what it is doing in this thread in any case.

It had to do with reading multiple articles on voters in West Virginia who are openly admitting to racial bias, thus living up to hillbilly stereotypes.
