Fork Hillary 3: The Final Forking

At that point, customer Rita Bowling, munching on a biscuit dripping with cream gravy. said “Gee Mrs. Clinton, if a Presidential candidate can’t overcome precedent, what are you as a woman doing in this race? Shouldn’t you immediately drop out and urge your followers to support John Edwards?”
I know that didn’t happen, but it’s nice to dream…

Did anyone notice the sidebar with a link to Valerie Plane Wilson? Wow, Hillary really needs to fire her editor.

Seems pretty accurate to me. At some point you have to call a spade a spade

Yeah, that gets even funnier the second time.

Up?

What, are you posting from Argentina this week?

The Telegraph says that she’s going to pull out after Virginia.

I always find it dubious at best when British newspapers attempt US political analysis.

But I hope it’s true.

Poor West Virginia. It just can’t catch a break.

Heh! I’m posting from Denmark right now, and we flew through Dulles on Saturday and saw that, too. LOL

I know that we’ve joked about this happening (after Clinton’s pursuit of them) but for real?!?

Pull out and go where? Home? I agree then, she should pull out and go back to whichever state she is calling home now.

DSeid most will and are playing by the rules, it’s not an open forum and most pledged delegates know this. Clinton may try something, but this nomination has been ticking down or a long while in Obama’s favor. A big win in WV today is just that…a big win in West Virginia, not much of a pull ahead, at all.

Even if she won 100% of WV, she’d still be far behind. And the Maryland guy had changed his mind before. He was for Obama early, then Clinton, and now Obama again. I wouldn’t pay him much attention.

Meanwhile, pundits yesterday were still all about Clinton. What are her options? What can she do? What is she up to? Will she be the veep? How will she bow out?

I mean, damn. What does it take for pundits to frame things around Obama rather than around her? Hell, on his fucking inauguration day, they’ll be reporting what Hillary is doing.

By the way — 2 more superdelegates for Obama today. So far.

When all the attention being paid to Hillary is about exactly how and when her campaign will grind to a halt, I don’t begrudge her a little time in the spotlight. It’s a long way to November, and Obama will have plenty of media attention in the days to come.

Due respect, I’ll believe it when I see it.

Returning to campaign theme songs: in view of her recent remarks, Hillary’s new theme should be Sparks’ “White Women”.

*They walk without a swagger
Their power’s on the wane
But something deep within me
Cries out all the same (it’s gotta be)
White women everyday…

As long as they’re white
As long as they’re white
As long as they’re white from head to toe*

Well, now that there are at least 57 states, maybe Hil’s chances just improved!

It’s probably her new goalpost for winning.

Did Texas pull that long-rumored splitting-into-separate-states trick?

As to why HRC is staying in, someone either in this thread or another (sorry, can’t remember) pointed out that if the contest went to the convention, everyone would be glued to their set for the length of the convention, unlike the usual year of boring speeches and a fore-ordained conclusion. What better way to get the Democratic message across to millions? As long as HRC stops the attacks on Obama, I’m perfectly happy to let it go to the convention.

With respect to closet vs. open racism, IMO the good thing about veiled racism is that it’s far less likely to be passed on to the next generation. Since racism is seen as something shameful in this country in general, parents are less likely to express it in front of their children, and teachers will certainly not preach it in the classroom.

Do you have children?
