Former Dentist of Mine Is a Killer

So, she only worked on my teeth once, but it’s still a bit unnerving. She killed her husband who was cheating on her. Here’s the story:

"Prosecutor Mia Magness told Davies that Clara Harris went to the hotel and confronted her husband and Bridges in the lobby. An altercation ensued and the three were escorted outside by hotel employees.

In the parking lot David Harris walked the woman to her vehicle as Clara Harris got into her silver Mercedes-Benz then plowed the car into David Harris, propelling his body 25 feet, Magness said.

Magness said Clara Harris then crossed over two grassy medians and ran over her husband three more times before putting the car into reverse and backing over his body and leaving the car parked on him."

Yet another reason to dread going to the dentist.

Woah! That things came to that really make one wonder what was going on to make her want a public display.

As she was running him over, did she call him “white trash”?

I used to each lunch once in a while with a hired killer.. The link is my thread about it, and there’s a link in the first post about the killing that still works.

I work at Delta Dental of Washington (which is the original Delta and I believe the largest dental HMO) and everyone is all abuzz with this. Several people apparently know him.

Err… her.

:rushes in:

:looks around frantically:

:spies Daoloth absentmindedly rubbing the tooth that she worked on:

Thank Goodness you are all right, You were almost a goner there. Now don’t you ever scare us like this again

:collapses sobbing on the floor:

UPDATE: From that standard-bearer of journalism, the New York Post:

Bisexual Triangle Led To Car Slay Of Hubby

http://www.nypost.com/news/nationalnews/53546.htm

The wife claimed that she hit him four times and parked on him “by accident”.

Bond was allowed if she’d have no further contact with the mistress. Local news reported it was revoked last night, reportedly because she indeed did try and go to the mistress’ home.

The creepiest part of this story, IMO, is that the victim’s daughter was inside the car while it was being used to kill her father. I read a different story on this that reported she had been berating her father during the shouting match, and hitting him with her purse. I can’t imagine how she’s feeling now, knowing that her last interaction with her father was so nasty. I wonder if she tried to grab the wheel away from her stepmother, or anything? Anyone have the scoop? I haven’t heard much more about her other than that she was “in shock” following the murder.

bella

The story I saw noted that a family photo from happier times revealed that both husband (orthodontist) and wife (dentist) had perfect smiles.

She killed her father with the purse and her mother simply drove over his body to protect the daughter.

Oliver Stone

Psssst… he’s dead already. Little late for extreme unction, dude.

And to think that I stopped going to my dentist simply because he was consistently verbally abusive to his assistant (who he was sleeping with,) while he’s drilling away. (At least it proved you can always be more uncomfortable.)

But that… that’s seriously messed up. How awful for the daughter.

From the Houston Chronicle:

I didn’t see anything in either article that stated the daughter was in the car.

Richiam:

She was in there, I just haven’t read anything other than that bare fact. It just seems like a pretty good angle, and I’m surprised the press hasn’t jumped all over it, you know?

[hijack]While I was googling for the old story I read (which I couldn’t find, of course), I found this. There was another famous Clara Harris, it seems (scrool down).
I just thought that was interesting.[/hijack]

bella

bella, don’t run me over with your car, but the article quotes Mia Magness, the prosecutor, as saying the daughter was in the car, then goes on to quote John Tyler, a witness, as saying that the daughter was “lying on the ground” while her mother was being arrested.

I dunno; neither of us was there.

No kidding, you work for WDS? What do you do? I may have actually talked to you on the phone, if you work in claims services!

You guys are, by FAR, the most reasonible people I ever have to deal with dental insurance wise! You actually seem to A) Hire people who have a CLUE what a tooth is, B) If not, you train your people well and C) LISTEN to what is being said instead of just saying “Not a covered item. Not a covered item. Not a covered item.” To yourself the whole time I am trying to explain a situation.

Kudos to WDS!

But if you are in Seattle, why haven’t I been lucky enough to meet you at a PNW DopeFest?

(Sorry for the hijack)

Scotticher, I am a mere temp for WDS but I know they are good. I listen to the phone reps half my day; they all seem to be great people and actually like their jobs. I know they are well-paid and have really good benefits, which no doubt goes a long way.

I am slightly reclusive and have never been to a Dopefest! I know you just had one in Seattle. I heard a good time was had by all.

I hope you will at least think about joining us next time…we are a really laid-back bunch, and you can be as outgoing or as quiet as you want…we don’t mind either way.

And I am glad the phone reps are well paid…they have a difficult job, and they do it well. In all my years in dentistry, I can only think of two that were less than helpful…and only one of them approached rude. Which is a stunning endorsement, believe me.
