I loved, loved, loved skateboarding. But when I moved out of my parents house I just left it behind. They store it in their garage and let the grandkids play with it when they visit.
Role-playing games - time to play and even time to find a decent, adult group was just too much for me.
Racqetball - physical limitations; my knees ain’t what they once were.
Fishkeeping - House doesn’t have a good spot for a tank (away from direct light and heat).
Those are the three that came to mind first. I’m sure there are others.
9 Ball. I was really enjoying it, but found that I only did it at bars. But when I decided to cut back on drinking, I stopped shooting.
Used to brew beer, but had a 0% success rate . . .
Oh, right, there’s another one. I made some pretty good beer, and some pretty mediocre beer. Also made a couple killer batches of mead, but after a bad streak I kind of stopped. Didn’t help that I don’t drink much, so several gallons of brew sitting around didn’t make much sense.
Kept several aquariums, but when the stingray died off I packed everything up.
Photography took too much time - trying to get a few seconds away from the family for something I enjoy is doomed to failure. This killed skiing and mountain biking, too.
There’s probably more that I’ve forgotten
I was a line-dancing fool but clubs don’t play country music much or offer lessons anymore around here. I would also walttz and two-step and cha-cha.
I’ll never give up my cowboy boot collection in case it becomes popular again.
Asimovian’s thread reminded me, I used to bowl quite a bit, but I don’t anymore. My wife isn’t into it, and since my work keeps me out of the house for 90% of my waking day, I feel a bit guilty about using what little time there is bowling on my own instead of being with my family.
