Forums and forum names

A rant may be mild or lame by Pit standards, but still exceed the vitriol permitted in other fora.

The BBQ Pit is a rant forum. It always has been.

MPRIMS?

My time as a mod ended just after the new forum came on. The decision to make Cafe Society was actually made over a month before it was implemented. The delay, believe it or not, was because it took us that long to think of a name for it. Eventually, Ukelele Ike (who was already slated as one of the mods for the new forum) came up with Cafe Society, and less than 24 hours later, it was so.

Why? Why is the name important to you? What difference does it make?

Carol Stream, is there some reason you can’t just ignore the threads that don’t interest you?
That’s what most of us do, I believe.

Having all, or at least, most of the threads that uses questionable language in the same forum makes it easier for folks at work to avoid opening something that a passing boss might find objectionable.

Maybe the description of The Pit can be changed to something like “If you need to vent or express your recreational outrage, do it here”

Again, I think it’s fine as it is and needs no real change.

Maybe *Giraffe ** could edit his Pit Sticky to include something about RO has it has been a hot topic lately of having too much RO. **Carol ** might exaggerate, but she is not alone in her complaints.
