Guinastasia, my family has a portrait of my dad’s mother in an almost identical style to the one of your Great-Gramma Sutter, right down to the hairstyle and the gown. She was married in 1922 and this was when she was a bit younger than that, so I bet the pictures were taken around the same time. It must have been the fashion. Our picture isn’t colored, though.
Great pictures!
Here are a few of mine.
My paternal grandmother and grandfather on their wedding day. Pretty snazzy looking for seriously middle-of-nowhere Kansas 1908.
The bride’s sister Mabel. Possibly taken at the same time? Great hat!
Three of my aunts: Ruth, Leah and Elizabeth, (daughters of the bride and groom above) taken around 1916.
My mom, the bobby-soxer, with my dad circa 1946?
My dad running the Linotype at the tiny newspaper he owned in the late 50’s - early 60’s.
