Lucky cat. Your compassion does not go unnoticed and some believe it will not go unrewarded. We actually have lots of people like this in our country. It’s part of what makes us exceptional !

I have a 1/2 Maine Coon that adopted me several years ago. Other than being completely white rather than brown or black tabby, he looks the part completely. He appeared out of nowhere and simply jumped in my car as I was loading groceries from my cart one day. He sat there for all the world as if he owned the vehicle. I warned him that there were 3 dogs at my house with very acute prey instincts. He yawned and washed one ear. Warily, I took him home and introduced him to the canines. He was nonplussed. They barked and attempted chase, but you can’t chase something that refuses to run. He jumped on the windowsill and ignored them while watching a bird in the evergreen bush. A trip to the vet proved him to be healthy and unchipped. After contacting all the pertinent organizations and running a “found” ad in the local paper for two weeks without reply, he became a member of our family. His name is Cattius Maximus, or Max to his friends. He has remained mum on his antecedents.

Thanks. Other than our first cat(pet shop), all the others have been rescues in some form. I guess I take after my mom in that regard.
I’ve wanted a M.C. for a long time but we don’t have the money to go to a breeder plus our preference for cats than need a home.

If anyone ever has a cat they name Tobermory, I have a personalized food and waterbowl set I’ll send you. My own Toby is gone now, but I couldn’t bear to toss the dish. It’s heavy ceramic too.

I have a rescued Maine Coon who looks very like Molly except my boy has the dark bands.
Beautiful cats. Amazingly benign. Fury (I didn’t name him but it has to be ironic) avoids fights and when dealing with another cat, goes and sits under a chair with an inscrutable smile.

Gorgeous animal lovely name. We have a full blown Maine Coon named Lucy with similar stripes but a darker color.
