Lucky you…
Heh…
I gave mine to a girl at a graduation party… went to go pick up another keg… took it to a different party… never saw her or it ever again.
Just thought I’d check in and see if the wallet ever found its’ owner.
I nearly signed up for Straightdope with “Donald Eugene Ivens” as my nick but I thought that would be silly/cruel.
heh. We like silly and cruel. Welcome home.
Thanks .
Brilliant!
Welcome to the SDMB, An Gadai.
Damn! I saw this thread yesterday and started reading it intently. As both a bystander and someone who used to work in the PI business, I was really looking forward to happy ending, but I didn’t finish yesterday.
And now I’ve gotten to the end of the thread only to discover there’s been no resolution yet.
It’s incredibly tempting to see if I could get one of the local (Los Angeles) television media outlets interested in picking up this story. I’d think they’d be interested both as a story about finding the lost man and about how an internet community with powerful and far-reaching resources have pulled together to try to solve the mystery!
Let’s get on it, then. KCAL9 lets you send email to suggest a story. KTLA has a link on their site. Fox 11 doesn’t have a specific contact for story ideas, but they seem open to phone calls. If you want to draft an email to KCAL9 and copy it to KTLA, I’ll call Fox. If you could show me the email first, that’d be great too.
Thank you very much.
I just want to add that I love this board.
seriously thats all I wanted to add
How about the anagram “Avenge and Delusion”.
This guy is
… elusive and and gone.
Solve and I need a gun.
Just discovered this thread yesterday, and felt compelled to add a note, even though it refers to a “dead end” candidate for ownership of the wallet …
If so, he didn’t move far – Graceland University’s main campus is in Lamoni. When U.S. Senator Paul Simon was campaigning for the 1988 Democratic presidential nomination, he played off the then-recent success of this album by making an appearance at the school and billing it as “Paul Simon Comes to Graceland”.
Fascinating story. Any updates?
I just did a search on ASK.com

For this reason alone the OP NEEDS to get the local press on this!
