The dog tags of a soldier who died in the D-Day invasion of Normandy were returned to the man’s family on June 6 of this year. Incidentally, I went to a college with a Jeff Fulgham, but apparently not (judging by the photo in the linked story) the one who’s director of development for the National D-Day Memorial Foundation.
LMAO
It’s topped 38,000 now. Let’s go for an even 40,000!
Closure, people.
We crave some closure.
Fuckin’ wallet, this thread pops into my head when I’m DRIVING on the road. Jeeeesh.
Apparently the wallet is registered to a man who lived at 14 k of g in a f p d.
Did filmyak ever join? If not I think he deserves a free membership for starting one of the most interesting posts ever.
His join date was 04-28-2001, so he was a member for six years.
Why do I have the uneasy feeling that sometime after his last visit to the board he located the wallet’s owner, went to find him and the fiend killed filmyak and put his wallet in a wall somewhere. Years from now it’ll be discovered, beginning the cycle anew. I’m picturing a series of horror films like Saw or Hostel being made based on the story…
Erle Stanley Gardner’s “The case of the walled up wallet”
I wish he would come back, because I have that synopsis all written up, and I want to submit it to local news!
His email is still in his profile.
Wow, I didn’t realize this thread was still going. I dropped in because I happened upon yet another found wallet story. This one was lost 43 years ago.
Cool article, flight. I was wondering about this thread myself. What can I say? I crave closure.
Dammit, now I’m hooked.
I shouldn’t have subscribed, now I have to post my resurgent concern for this wallet just as the trail goes even colder :smack:
I wonder about the story of the wallet found after 56 years… maybe it was fopunf after 20 years and took 36 years to find the owner? That would be bad…
Or make a fake person just to watch someone go bonkers trying to find them…
Every damn time this thread gets back on the front page, I jump in hoping to finally find out who Eugene Ivens is.
And every damn time, it is just more dead ends.
Insanity - Repeating the same actions and expecting different results.
Donald Eugene Ivens, born 13 Sept. 1931.
I’m guessing he lives in an apartment, doesn’t drive a car, and has an unlisted telephone number.
Don’t get all excited, I only bumped this to add this link about a lost wedding ring.
A Found Wallet Thread haiku
Another post here?
I must read it - right away!
Sigh. Still no closure.
Given his age, a nursing home somewhere, perhaps?
