Fountain of Youth, Aging Reversal Guaranteed

Flash!!! National radio informercial 12/1/01 declares aging reversal guaranteed. Free 30 day supply through GHR via 800 phone number. Authenticated by Dr. Ben Johnson and other doctors.

The call to the 800# gets ‘free’ month’s supply at the end of your $150 credit card order for the first 2 months.

Why pay $28,000 to get frozen when you can get ‘guaranteed’ aging reversal for only $150 for 3 months? That’s right, guaranteed.

Up till now, the only fountain of youth available has been to have a conscientious program of physical fitness, nutrition, stress management, spirituality, and compatible relationship with at least one other close companion.

But now, one can invest in cryonics, human growth hormone products, teloerase research, as well as health club membership, magic bananas, and personal growth activities.

Yet, why even be concerned about living longer than genetic sentence to the gallows before age 80? Major project to live optimum lifestyle now, getting the most from each minute. Who needs more time when much is wasted on negativity or apathy or time-consuming internet flapping. Just how productive is reading and responding to the multitude of threads on this forum anyway, when one could be exercising and contributing to society and living life to the fullest?

For me, to want more years does not negate the importance of capturing the best with what I’ve got now or that death is to be feared. And reading and contributing to this forum helps me sort things out that are somewhat nebulous to me at times. That is because most of the contributions from the participants of this forum seem to be courteous, challenging, stimulating, enlightening ideas.

Besides that, when dead, how can one miss out on what remaining others alive are still enjoying. When dead, individual is not conscious to envy the enjoyable lives of those who stay. If personal theology places individual with maker in etherial state, it won’t be worse than today’s life. I don’t think I will be floating around in the clouds at 1000’ in non-physical state with binoculars looking down at the survivors with envy.

Google gets several sites on ghr hgh, btw. Special discount prices on age reversal products. No hidden referral fees to this writer, either.

And the debate this time is… ?
[sup]Sorry, I can’t see anthing in there to discuss; did you mean to post this in GD?[/sup]

aging reversal is possible. yes no your position, please.

Today? - no.
In the near future? - probably not.
In the far future? - maybe.

I think aging reversal is going to be so very much harder to achieve than suppression of aging (not that I think this will be easy), that the pharmaceutical companies will concentrate on the latter.

Sorry to post something unrelated in this thread, but a03 decided to post some facts in another thread ( http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showthread.php?threadid=101878 ) and failed to back it up. It’s an interesting topic and I’d appreaciate it if a03 would provide the sites that everyone is requesting on that thread. Thank you.

This is aging reversal supposedly based on human growth hormone supplements? - I’m finding reports that much of the HGH offered on the net is fake. Ho hum.

Supposedly, HGH supplements can cause an increase in muscle mass and decrease in fat in adults, but this isn’t reversing the aging process by a long way.

Would appreciate source that proclaims HGH is fake. Am considering spending money and time in it as well as risking countereffects of using it.

Not to be flippant, but if true aging reversal were possible right now, we’d be hearing about it in medical journals and debating its ethics on TV and in politics. The first indication wouldn’t be an infomertial with guaranteed results. Their claims aren’t worth much unless they’ve got lots of documentary evidence that they’re getting peer reviewed . . .

Okay, there WAS a credible report not too long ago about an aging ‘breakthrough’, at least in rodent trials. Unfortunately, I can’t remember the name of the substance (It ended in ‘-A’, if I recall correctly), and haven’t found any more about it on the net. But the researchers were claiming that mice that were fed this stuff lived something like 200% longer than regular mice. They predicted human trials within 10 years.

I saw the report on CNN, thought it was fascinating, and then promptly forgot the name of the substance, so now I can’t do a search for it.

Does anyone else remember this, or have more details?

I came across a few articles mentioning this when I was doing a Google searh on Human Growth Hormone aging, but a search on Human Growth Hormone fake finds lots and lots of hits (although of course some of these just happen to contain those particular words and aren’t on subject).

Re: HGH and aging. There was an article on Science Daily Magazine a couple months back about this. Some folks found that GH causes mice to age faster.

Bad Science Logic: HGH Peaks at adolescence and declines with age. Ergo, aging is caused by lack of HGH, so give people HGH.

Good Science Logic: HGH Peaks at adolescence and declines with age. Ergo, HGH causes aging.

Think about it, when is your body changing the fastest? There’s a reason your body adjusts how much it makes of this stuff. Sheesh.
