Fourth in a series: can Bush pick 'em or what?

The late Sen. Craig Thomas is merely pining for the fjords. Or so says HHS Secretary Mike Leavitt:

Every time I think this Administration can’t get any more clownish…

I’m getting in there early; nothing to do with Bush. Yes, I know, the title’s recycled.

It’s about someone that Bush picked, who demonstrated that he wasn’t exactly the sharpest tool in the shed. Seems to fit the title perfectly.

Eh. We have no idea who made the mistake, whether it was Leavitt or someone on his staff. Maybe Leavitt is a complete idiot or maybe he told someone to set up meeting with all the Senators on “X” committee, and the staffer just went off a canned list.

Whatever. It was still very, very, very stupid.

Hey! Flincher!

Doesn’t fit the mode of the series, which is counterproductive, ill-suited and just plain moronic Bush nominees. This guy could be a good administrator, just not up-to-date on his obituary reading.
Although the Health and Human Services guy should be able to tell the dead from the living.

I hope they replied, "The secretary wants to meet with Senator Thomas? Over his dead body!)

They’re simply protecting him, as he is not good interpersonally. A bit stiff.

You’ll get your appointment with the Senator when you pry his Day-Timer out of his cold, dead, wait what again?

We had a co-worker die over Christmas and not that pay period but the next, Payroll calls wondering where his timesheet is. Now, I know they are working off some report showing “missing” timesheets, but damn, how many times does an active employee kick off and could they possibly spread the word?

You’re doin’ a heckuva job, Leavie!

It was actually a solicitation for Cheney. Sen Thomas’ heart is warmer than Dick’s.
