Fox News Most Trusted Television News Source

MSNBC least. Who’da thunk it?

I guess the crucial difference between trusted and trustworthy eludes a lot of people.

And this means what to you, exactly?

There’s a reason for that. Conservatives have Fox “News”. Liberals may get their news from MSNBC, CNN, or the broadcast networks. So 100% of conservatives are greater than 25% tops of liberals. Whoop dee doo.

I would expect this to closely follow ratings. I assume the vast majority of watchers of a news network do so because they believe it, and are not watching it ironically like a Daily Show intern looking for material. Is this not the case?

Probably true.

But this is in MPSIMS for a reason.

Does Fox News still bill itself as an alternative to the “mainstream media”? Because I’m pretty sure it is mainstream media at this point.

Theres two Fox networks. The entertainment channel where I watch the Simpsons and the News Division.

The Fox news division covers regular news and politics. I’ve generally found their non-political news quite good. They don’t have as many reporters as CNN. Fox does have one advantage. Their local Fox tv stations and reporters. If there is a major news event in a city then Fox may already have local reporters on scene to cover it. Its their town and local reporters can give a more knowledgeable report.

I trust CNN and network news (ABC,CBS) the most for political news. MSNBC and Fox are two sides of the same coin. MSNBC is biased to the left and Fox is biased to the right. I never watch MSNBC and rarely watch any Fox political news. I watch it some just to hear the right’s position on an issue. Then watch CNN for a balanced view.

To the same degree?

If you mean “inaccurate” by “biased,” then only Fox would be considered biased. I would agree that MSNBC has a liberal “outlook,” that could fall under a broader definition of bias. But they are not “two sides of the same coin.”

Maybe he is referring to the coin owned by the Batman villain Two-Face?

MSNBC has Hardball and “a thrill up my leg” Chris Matthews. Fox has The O’Reilly Factor with Bill O’Reilly. I never watch either show. They are similar shows with opposite political views. I just don’t like that format very much. I watch The Situation Room with Wolf Blitzer on CNN occasionally. I turn it off too if the guests get to arguing.

I haven’t watched MSNBC in so long that I don’t know their other political shows. CNN and ABC are my main news channels. I try to watch Diane Sawyer every weeknight. Then my local ABC news comes on afterward.

The OP’s pdf page is 42. That brings you directly to the tv news stats.

That chart looks pretty accurate. Fox is very popular with middle America. I’m surprised Broadcast News has slipped to 2nd place. MSNBC on the bottom.

My mom watched MSNBC until the 2008 election. Their biased Obama coverage against Hillary pissed her off. My mom really likes the Clintons. I liked and supported Bill. Voted for him in every governor’s race and for President.

And that, folks, is how you properly compare networks: List one show from each network, then proclaim them to be similar sides of the same coin without bothering to watch either show.

I didn’t watch MSNBC in those days (2008). I did, however, get pissed off at Hillary a lot during that campaign. I’ve forgiven her and Bill since then.

Whatever you do, don’t take the results of a poll.

I mean, seriously – a “poll” that somehow measures how people feel about something? It’s lunacy.

I’ve seen parts of Hardball and the The O’Reilly Factor. Many times. I don’t care for either show. It used to bug me when I visited my parents. Mom always watched Hardball. Set my teeth on edge. I’m sure glad she stopped watching MSNBC.

It’s not news to anybody that Fox News gets strong ratings. If you look at that chart, the answer for the trust thing is very simple: Republicans and conservatives love Fox News more than anyone else loves any other outlet. About half of all Republicans and conservatives say they trust Fox News. No network gets anywhere near that kind of trust from Democrats/liberals or moderates/independents.

I take the results of that poll exactly for what it is-evidence that propaganda is an advanced science in today’s society. . Do you think it should influence what I think about the issues of the day?

Was the poll measuring the same thing they’re talking about?

Hint: no.

Any you knew that, but you got to be insultingly cutesy to a liberal, so that’s a win, right?
