Fox News refers to Michelle Obama as "Obama's Baby Mama"

And we thought “terrorist fist jab” was as low as they would sink…

Racism and sexism all rolled up into one! I can’t imagine a more insulting thing to say about a woman as classy and intelligent as Michelle Obama. You know, pretty much any decent human being would refrain from saying something like that, and here they are putting it on the fucking “news.” I’m absolutely disgusted.

Cut them all the slack they need, I say. It’s going to be a spectacular hanging.

God damn that’s pathetic.

She’s not his ‘baby mama’, she’s his wife. Still, not as bad as “assassinate Osama. . . I mean Obama-- either one would be good.”

Placing bets-- which FOX word reader will be the first to drop the N-bomb? Even though she’s not regularly on a FOX show, I’m putting my money on Ann Coulter.

Fox is working overtime on Obama aren’t they? Good heavens.

Terrorist fist jab is still my favorite, however. Has anyone in the history of the world referred to it as that before fox did?

I guess they’ve got to figure that their livelihood is likely to be threatened if a Democrat- especially a popular, charismatic Democrat- were to be elected. They’ve basically made a living off of Bush, so they’ve got to be more than a little worried.

This label doesn’t make any sense if “baby mama” is what one of the linked commentors describes; it is “… a term used to describe a woman who got impregnated and whose man left her.”

Huh?

What’s the “terrorist fist jab” thing? I missed that one.

Any reaction yet?

I think it behooves us to be scrupulously accurate about these things. You’re referring to Liz Trotta saying:

with a smarmy little chuckle, as discussed at length in this thread.

If you mean “nigger”, it’s hard to see Coulter crossing that line when she’s so good at using weasley code words.

I’ll have to wait till I get home to see if I can find Fox video with the “Baby Mama” headline; I want to see the exact context in which it appears. (I haven’t actually watched Fox News in years. It took repeated viewings to convince myself that they really are presenting an apparently unending stream of stupidity, ignorance, slease and lies. I mean, moreso than the other news channels.)

They’ll be even more successful with a Democrat in office. They have nothing to worry about. They’re not attacking Obama because he threatens them, but because it’s the attacking itself from which they profit.

Yeah, I suppose so. It has to be a little appealing for them to be able to spend four years going negative on a president rather than trying to defend the largely indefensible day in and day out.

Cite please. I don’t recall ever thinking that.

It was a reference to the little fist bump thing they did before he gave his victory speech last Tuesday.

As Michelle was leaving the podium after addressing a croud during a recent state primary, she and Barak stopped to briefly offer each other encouragement, one part of which was a soft, little knuckle to knuckle fist press. I suppose it was somewhat unorthodox, thus allowing those unfamiliar with the gesture to speculate wildly on its origins, meaning, etc.

ETA: Dang but the responses come in fast. Obviously, this was IRT Miller’s question.

Here you go

Terrorist fist jab:

I must be old. What is “baby mama” supposed to mean? The link is the first time I have seen it defined. Has this term been around a long time and in common usage?

Or here for a direct link.

It’s been in popular culture since at least 1990 and was popularized by rap musicians. It means a woman whose only relationship to you is that she has borne you a child. It implies that she is likely not your wife and not your girlfriend. She might be an ex-wife or ex-girlfriend, but it’s just as likely that she’s just a girl whom you’ve impregnated and that’s the extent of your relationship.

“Baby daddy” is for the other way around.

Here’s a youtube to the fox news segment

You can see the actual “Terrorist fist Jab” at 40 secs in to this video.

The fist thing is unbelievable. It was a little cute moment between a husband and wife when the husband just won the race to represent his party for the race to the White House.
