I have windows vista. I just upgraded Foxit Reader to version 3.0. Now, for whatever reason, I need to grant it permission every time I use it. Does anyone know what gives with this? I’ve looked on line for answers, but I’ve yet to come across any. Can anyone help me out?
Well, you can always turn off User Account Control entirely. This makes Vista a good deal less secure, though if you have a firewall and anti-virus program it usually isn’t anything to worry about. To turn it off, search User Account Control from the Start Menu. Open that program, and move the slider all the way down.
Yeah, I’d like to fix the problem without having to do that.
Thank you sir

This is untrue. UAC is an entire security layer, not just a pop-up mechanism. Some AV solutions dont work when its off. Ive seen AVG fail to install when its off. AVG expects some API that youve disabled. Not to mention UAC is probably the best thing to happen to Windows. Leave it on, running as admin 24/7 is just being silly.
This type of bug should be unacceptable in this day and age. I would make sure to complain to Foxit.
Well, it is free.
