Foxy Knoxy signs a 4 Million Dollar Book Deal.

Gotta love the press. Giving a convicted murderer 4 Million books. A million bucks for each year in prison. Not a bad pay off for the sexy and oh so deadly lady.

Amanda Knox can travel the world in style now. She better keep her butt out of Italy. The prosecutor recently appealed the lower courts decision to release her. If he wins the appeal they’ll want Foxy Knoxy back in her cell.

What bugs me the most is the case isn’t even over yet. The US will have to extradite her if the higher Italian court reverses her release. The press is giving her a 4 million buck defense fund.

Casey Anthony was found not guilty and people would throw a hissy fit if she got this book deal.

Double standards suck.

She probably needs a lot of money to cover her bills and pay people back who’ve been covering them so far. The book will probably have some sensational stuff in it, but I wouldn’t expect it to cover everything or be truthful no matter what she says in the press releases. Innocent or guilty, there’s things she wants to cover up, and she has a grudge against the Italian justice system (for good reason).

Did you notice this in the newsday article? Amanda is already well prepared to make up a good, juicy story.

When she came home, she and her family were told that if the Italian court reversed its decision, she would not face extradition. In the eyes of the US that would be double jeopardy.

I find it disturbing that someone in Arkansas believes she is guilty when even the Italian court said she isn’t. The prosecutor in her case has political ambitions. He thinks continuing to harrass an innocent girl will keep his face in the press.

I doubt the case has been as well publicized and followede in other parts of the country. Here in Seattle we’ve watched to actual court proceedings from the beginning. The case was a joke. They have the killer in jail, but he is a homeless drug addict, so he doesn’t give good press. Besides, he confessed and apologized, so nothing to see there.

Casey Anthony was not found to be innocent, they simply didn’t have enough evidence to convict, IMO.

I accept that the court reversed its decision on Amanda. Just like I accept the jury saying not guilty for Casey Anthony. I don’t agree with either verdict but I accept it.

I rather not see any accused murderer profiting from their notoriety. Courts aren’t perfect and sometimes the guilty get off. The Italians totally bungled the case against Amanda, but that still doesn’t mean she should collect 4 million bucks for a book deal. IMHO I think she should be ignored by the press just like OJ and Casey. They never let OJ profit from his case and I don’t think anyone will pay Casey any big money either.

I’m sure others disagree and that’s cool too.

The difference with Amanda Knox (compared to OJ Simpson and Casey Anthony) is that many people think she really didn’t do it. With all that went through and all the money her parents spent trying to help her, if someone thinks she’s genuinely innocent then why would they be bothered by her getting paid to tell her story?

So someone is accused of a crime, their life is completely turned upside-down and can’t earn a living, and then they have the charges dismissed by the court because the case was awful, and you want to tell them they can’t recoup their lost life? She had her conviction overturned for a reason.

And you’re complaining that because she studied creative writing at one point that you can’t trust her account of the events? Pretty much anyone with a college degree studied creative writing at some point. I have a computer science degree and I took creative writing courses. You’re grasping at straws here.

So that’s TWO reasons we can’t trust what YOU post, isn’t it?

Well, good for her–I hope she makes a lot of money, bless her little cotton socks. She deserves it, after being railroaded by those Satanic-sex-games-theory nut-cases.

It would be the icing on the cake if she turns out to be a terrific writer and comes out with a real In Cold Blood classic.

It’s most useful for writing error messages and closing bug reports with “works as designed.”

I agree that they didn’t find her innocent, just don’t have enough to convict. The Italian justice system may be a mess, but I think she had something to do with this murder, that she’s not telling. Just one opinion among millions, to be sure.

Will we ever know the truth? Not likely.

I won’t buy the book. I wouldn’t buy a Casey Anthony book or an OJ book either.

That’s how I feel too. Because the case was so badly botched we’ll never know the truth. My gut tells me she had something to do with her roommate’s rape & murder. I didn’t mind seeing Amanda freed because the case just wasn’t strong enough. But, in my mind she joins the OJ and Casey Anthony club. Possible murderers that just didn’t get convicted. There’s others in this club too but I can’t think of their names right now. I don’t want to see these people profit from someone elses death.

I won’t be buying the book nor paying to see any movies about Foxy Knoxy. I’d prefer she faded away into obscurity. But we all know that’s not going to happen. I wouldn’t be surprised to see her getting a tv gig someday on a talk show. <sigh>

I’ll try to ignore her in the future. That’s really the only option I have for any of these notorious people.

My gut tells me she’s no little Miss Innocent, but it doesn’t carry into her participating in the murder. But there’s surely other information she knew and didn’t tell, and probably never will. I wouldn’t be reading her book or watching her movie anyway. And having her fade away would be a good way for this all to end.

You could probably reduce the chances of any of that happening by not linking to Daily Mail stories about the target of your ire?

Clearly you don’t accept it, or you would not have referred to her as a convicted murderer in your OP.

I hope she makes a lot of money and is some way compensated for the loss of 4 years of her life. I’m sure she’s no angel but there was a confessed killer with DNA all over the scene and absolutely no evidence that she was involved in any way. This isn’t a Casey Anthony lack of evidence case where she probably did it but they just can’t prove it. They have the murderer, they know who did it and if you look at this prosecutor’s history you have to be disgusted by the lies and deceit and absolutely crazy theories he has devised out of thin air in order to put demonstrably innocent people in jail. This isn’t the only time he has postulated a satanic cult with absolutely no evidence other than his own twisted mind.

To me it’s an issue of whether she’s technically innocent or genuinely innocent.

If she’s technically innocent - as in, she committed a crime but there were legal grounds for finding her not guilty - then I say she shouldn’t get any money from her crime.

If she’s genuinely innocent - as in, she really didn’t commit any crime - then she’s entitled to at least four million dollars for all she’s gone through. The only problem I’d have in that situation is that it’s a publisher paying her rather than the Italian government.

That said, I haven’t followed the case well enough to have an opinion on whether Knox is technically or genuinely innocent.

Are you referring to my post ? I said *Casey Anthony * was not found innocent.
In Amanda’s case, on re-trial, they found that evidence clearing her, was not submitted and the DNA on the knife was someone else’s. (the man who is now in jail who confessed. Someone Amanda didn’t know.)

Sorry to get in the way of your ill-informed rant, but:

  1. The conviction was thrown out, so she is NOT a convicted murderer.

  2. Everyone who has been paying attention to the case in the slightest knows the prosecution never had a case and that the real murderer was already caught.

  3. The family lost millions in legal fees and travel costs to support Knox through the travesty of justice, so this money will just go towards making up for a debt they never should have had to have in the first place.

  4. What, press and media outlets around the world are free to make money off of falsely claiming she was guilty but she’s not allowed to make money now that she has been proven innocent?

  5. Anyone who at this late stage still thinks Knox and Sollecito killed Kercher really shouldn’t be allowed on a message board that exists to fight ignorance. And, frankly, as a word of advice, if you don’t want to look like a total raving lunatic you probably shouldn’t share those opinions out in public either.
