Fragile egos of three B-grade celebrities and Owen Campbell

The programme is Australia’s got Talent.
The judges are a former boyband member who has had limited success on his own, Kylie Minogue’s sister and a shock-jock who I like because he tells the truth. In America you will have no idea who they are.

The guy was nervous. He tried a few jokes which fell flat.
What amazed me was the 3 judges all got offended by him and showed how pathetic they were. Look at the crowd’s reaction- 95% wanted the judges to say yes.

That ‘article’ is one of the most one sided pieces of tripe I’ve read in a long time. It reads as if it has been written by one of Campbell’s best friends.

Having said that, I agree with some of it. But ultimately, it doesn’t matter who the judges are, if you’re serious about the opportunity, why antagonize the people who have your fate in their hands? They might be touchy b-listers, but they’re still the ones who can say no.

If you genuinely have talent, you can become a world hit overnight (see Susan Boyle.)

Describing this guy as ‘best in the World’ is silly.

I don’t watch those shows, but from reading the linked article I’d say that’s probably the best way to treat the whole “idol” kind of thing. You take the five minutes of face-time on the television (which is the only real thing they offer), and you brush off the idiotic competition and bogus contractual arrangements they’ll try and saddle you with.
