Just curious. It seemed everyone had this album when I was a teenager.
I’ll attempt a poll from my phone…

At the time, no; I was just getting into music when FCA came out, and it wasn’t my style (I preferred pop).
However, I bought it as an adult, and I saw Frampton in concert a few years ago, when he was touring for the 35th anniversary of the album. He played every song from the album, in order, then went on to play for another 90 minutes. Great show!
I bought a copy, but it was probably the late-80’s at the time. I was 8 when the album was released, and I didn’t really listen to music much at all until high school.
That would have been a hell of a concert!
Did, and still do. Haven’t played it in years though. I should rip it to CD.
Bought the original when it first came out, currently own the 25th Anniversary 2CD set. Was at the Winterland show in '75.
It really was. He was in great form, and was very engaged with the audience, telling stories and clearly having a great time.
Early in the show, as he finished a song, someone walked onto the stage from one side. At first, I thought it was a roadie or something, but it was a very attractive young woman, who’d managed to sneak onto the stage. She quickly moved to Frampton, and hugged him, before being hustled off stage by security. Peter broke up laughing. “She was gorgeous…does she realize how old I am??”
There’s a DVD version of the concert tour, if it interests you.
Cool. Thanks.
I didn’t, but I was a kid when it was hot. Most of my music albums were the Beatles then. As I got into high school, it seems that every song from the album was still in heavy rotation on rock radio.
Yeah, we had one in the house. I don’t know where it came from. We didn’t even have many albums back then, but we had that.
That Wayne’s World joke was spot on.
I’m a little torn on how to answer this, because I haven’t ever owned a copy intentionally, but have had a copy or two for a few hours when I’ve inherited someone else’s record collection. Since it instantly goes into the pile of “Have heard it enough that I will never listen to it” and gets passed on, I decided that didn’t count, and answered “no”.
I had it on 8 track or maybe cassette?
I don’t recall which audio tape deck I had in my car during that time.
“Did”? I still own the LPs I purchased back in 1976. I also own the 25th Anniversary on CD (it totally fucking rocks!).
Yeah, still have the LP. It’s in pretty good condition, but I hardly play it anymore.
I really really liked it then, and respect its place in history, and it is pleasant background music that invokes some nostalgia, but it sounds so mellow now. I have come to like my rock music harder and harder.
Funny, back then it seemed like some crankin’, jammin’ tunes with an edge to me.
DO you feel like I do?
Who was on the keyboards? Funk man?
have the lp had the cassette tape
Why would I have bought it? Everyone ELSE had it.
Had it on 8-track long, long ago.
No. I did buy a copy of his 1975 Frampton album on CD in the mid 1990s and still have it, though. It’s very strange to hear the studio version of “Show Me the Way,” as that version is never played on the radio.
This song came up in rotation just a couple hours ago.
I always thought it was bump man.
Before my time. Sometimes I love how young this place makes me feel.
