In honor of bouv, who was just initiated into the Delta Phi chapter of Alpha Chi Rho at RPI, let’s have a check-in for all members (undergraduate and alumni) of fraternities and sororities.
Billdo, Alpha Chi Rho, Phi Phi Chapter (U. of Pennsylvania) '89
I would just like to say that it’s cool that I have a thread started in honor of me. And, as Billdo already stated, I’m a Brother of Alpha Chi Rho, Delta Phi chapter.
Chi Phi, Theta Chapter (Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute). When I joined, it was only a colony, so I’ve got my name on the charter, which is pretty cool. Maybe not the first refounding father or anything, but only a few years behind.
One of our original founding fathers, way back in 1877, was none other than George Ferris, inventor of the ferris wheel. And we’ve still got the house we had built for us in 1913.
Founding member (initiation number 2), Epsilon Pi Chapter, Pi Kappa Phi Fraternity at Virginia Commonwealth University, 1982. Served as Pres., Vice Pres., Chaplain (was in charge of initiation) 6 times. The Chapter had its charter pulled this past fall. Those of us in the area went to the house and had one last toast. We had a good run.
Alpha Xi Delta, Beta Eta Chapter (University of Maryland), '94 (you all are putting your graduation dates, right?).
I served as Panhellenic rep, chaplain, and president.
Our chapter isn’t there anymore, but I think they’re going to recolonize shortly.
Alpha Phi Omega, Mu Alpha Chapter (Georgetown University), '87 (initiation date). Bill Clinton is a brother in the chapter ('though we didn’t elect him president ;)).
We are a service fraternity, and my offices, were blood drive and van escort coordinator.
We are a co-ed chapter, which is the only way to go – the parties are so much more interesting. “Incest is best, put your brother to the test!”
Tau Epsilon Phi, Tau Sigma Upsilon Colony, Towson State University, '93. Unfortunately, they never made it to chapter, folding a few years after I graduated.
We didn’t have sororities. We DID have secret societies. I’d tell you about them, but then I’d have to kill you. I was in three.
Phi Beta Kappa doesn’t count, right? Same with ODK? Otherwise, I’ll claim those. Okay, we don’t throw formals and we never enter the panhellenic mud volleyball contest, but we DO pay dues…
