Has there been any strips that feature a cafeteria worker, lunch lady or chef?
I don’t THINK so…but I’m not absolutely sure. The core cast is Frazz, the kids, the young black teacher, the older black teacher (actually, these two may be the same person, before and after he started exercising…or not), the old woman teacher and the young woman teacher (who are definitely not the same person). The names of all except Frazz escape me. But you rarely see anyone other than those ones.
The older black teacher and the younger one are not the same person. The older one, Mr. Spaetzle, is the lovable but clueless principal. The younger one, Mr. Burke, is Frazz’s good friend, and he lost weight training for a marathon.
(edit to add Mr. Burke’s name, which I’d forgotten)
Edit 2: There is Mrs. Trevino, who I think is the closest thing to a lunch lady. She likes to make tamales for the kids and, according to Wikipedia, “incorporate food into her lessons.”
Doesn’t the philosophical black kid get smart with a lunch lady sometimes? Or is that just the older female teacher?
