For us it’s families using the playground. As for the theater I have no idea. But since it is private property the theater owner might be complaining. He might think that the patrons are getting out of hand. So to speak.
As for the celebrity/regular person getting caught, I was commenting because I don’t hear about this type of bust being a normal thing. It isn’t around here. I don’t know about LA. The comment I quoted implied that lapd is doing this often.
Can’t link to it from my phone but the LA Times says he was arrested by LAPD Vice doing a “routine inspection” of the theater. I have know idea what their definition of routine or inspection is.
Here in San Diego, vice goes around to all the strip joints every few years to ensure that they are complying with the “no touch” clauses in the strip club regulations. Sometimes, a club will get it’s liqour license pulled for a year.
Maybe LA vice is making sure the theatre isn’t being used as a front for prostitution or something.
Not all porn cinemas have private booths (those are peep shows). This was probably a regular theater with an orchestra, a balcony, and a lobby with an, uhm, refreshment stand.
That could explain why they were in the theater on a routine inspection. But they didn’t arrest him for that, they arrested him for doing something by himself.
So they must, in LA or Hollywood or whatever the jurisdiction is, have a local ordinance against masturbation in “public” which they are apparently interpreting to include adult theaters. Who would have thought in this day and age anyone would still be that prissy about what goes on in a venue like that?
Back in the 70s I remember going to an adult theater in Denver, and they not only had signs up forbidding masturbation, but they claimed to have cameras trained on the audience so that they could catch anyone who was actually doing it. I thought such things had gone the way of all flesh…
Roddy
Just saw that PBS has fired Fred Willard from his gig on the new show Market Warriors…
Gotta be honest, I am a little shocked that they acted so quickly, as I always thought PBS was one of the more liberal organizations out there, and they don’t seem to be in line with your “Moral Majority” bluenose types, and also I can’t remember another celeb getting the axe less than 24 hours after their various scandals broke, usually they are quietly let go in the days or weeks afterwards…
