I’ve tried searching. Each time I’ve tried, I feel like I’m drowning in sites, but haven’t yet found what I’m looking for. Are there any free sites which offer categories (i.e., an individual post can be stored under one of several topics (e.g., glowworms, graphology and gliding, or aerophagy, arabesques and Atlantis)? Or am I asking too much?
Photo capability is irrelevant to me, as is using a cell phone to post; it’s how it deals with words that is most relevant, and how fancy I can get with them. I would also be most interested in comments on the usability, etc., of such sites, if anyone has personal knowledge of them.
http://www.textamerica.com/ allows categories, but it is very much a mobile phone centered “Moblog” site. I have a free account there and I like it… but I only use it for photo posts from my phone.
Unfortunately, LJ seems to be geared to the usual chatty stuff. I hope for my blog to be taken seriously. Have I missed something? Is there anything like that in LJ?
Livejournal is open-source, so there are several other sites out there that are very similiar. I don’t know much about any of them, but here’s a good list of some.
