Free image hosting services?

I need to put some digital pictures online. I want to link to them and have other people be able to view them without a password. I KNOW that other people have used various services, but for the life of me I can’t think of any names right now. Please let me know about your image hosting service, what you think of it, and whether you’d recommend it.

I’m really interested in pretty basic stuff. I don’t want to have to fiddle and tweak this and that to get my pics up. They’re mostly just pictures of my cats, for crying out loud! But I’d like to share them.

I personally use Photobucket, but all I use it for to put images in my Live Journal or to link to the ocassional single image here and there. I like it a lot.

I really don’t know, but www.imageshack.us is about as easy as it gets; its easy even for a duffer like me

600KB limit however, so you should go with another service if they are relatively large pics

I have mine up on Webshots. Hanna the Tabby

They do have limits on the free accounts - I think 24 pictures per album, 10 albums total = 240 pictures. But it’s a good place for storage when I don’t want to mess with doing html. Easy to upload and link to, although I don’t think you can direct link. You have to link to the whole album.

I use webshots as well, limited to the 10 albums, but you can store and share full sized images. Easy to use as well.

I’ve used Imageshack for lots of things, I really like the simple interface.

…holy crapola!!! I spent half of yesterday signing up a geocities account and trying to use the “text” workaround to try and post an image on another board…and after trying imageshack I had that image up withn 30 seconds…

::runs around to spread the gospel that is imageshack!!! ::
( and the image for anyone interested… me on ANZAC day about ten years ago, I’m the one carrying the flag for the school cadet unit… )

Also, if you create a MSN group, you can upload pics to it and hotlink them. The URLs are extremely long though.
