GOG is giving away Rebel Galaxy with the first purchase in their Summer Sale.

Fantasy General is one of the greatest strategy games of all time. Can it hold up after so many years? I don’t know but it was amazing in its time.
It IS an SSI game! It’s from 1996, but still… I can’t believe I recognized their “look” after all these years!
I wasted a lot of time playing Battle for Normandy back in the day. My friends and I loved SSI because it meant we could play war games without having to clutter up a table or floor for days or weeks on end.

I played Fantasy General back in 98-99. That was a great game especially back then. I loved getting a great “hero” character and building him up to ridiculous levels so he steamrolls over armies.
Just one more mention of it: that Rebel Galaxy offer from me is still there. I would guess that anyone interested at the time just went and bought something on GOG.
And now it’s gone.

There’s not a news entry or Discussion posting about it or why it’s free but there it is.
It’s also free on GOG if you’re one of those people who hate Steam for some reason.
Mass Effect: Andromeda has a free ten hour trial available.
They allowed a free trial prior to release and it was enough for me to skip the game despite loving the franchise.
But they have since patched some things and, while not everything I would like, it seems worth another look on the free trial.
Speedrunners will have a free weekend in a couple of days. It’s a fantastic game, it’s sort of like a 2d sidescroller mario kart.
Humble Bundle has free Shadow Warrior: Special Edition steam keys available. Need Humble Bundle and Steam accounts to redeem.
Also on HB, there is a fun game about an evil little boy named Lucius on sale for .99 cents.
