The minimum is a GTX 670. that’s not as powerful as a PS4 Pro, and I don’t think that’s really above what most competitive gamers will own.
Steamworld Dig is free on orogin.
Humble Bundle has The Walking Dead Telltale Game for free for the next 30+ hours. It’s an excellent game. My mother even played and enjoyed it, and she’s not a fan of the comics, the show or zombies in general. You’ll need a steam account to redeem the key.
Oh ma gawd, that is awesome. Not for me, but my wife will love you for this. I mean me. Us. Whatever.
Monaco: What’s Yours is Mine is free forever if you get it on Steam before 10AM Pacific on the 8th.
And, as usual, I have an extra copy. But this time, it’s from a long time ago and thus shouldn’t expire. So PM me if you miss the deal.
Psychonauts is currently free for the next 48 hours on Humble Bundle.
Psychonauts is a wonderful game. If anyone here does not have it I strongly recommend you get it and play it (unless you hate the genre).
I re-played it on PC a few years ago, having played it originally on PS2.
My notes from the replay say, “Absolute classic. One of the greatest games of all time.”
It is. Even better, they actually patched their own PC version of the game years after release. It looks awesome in HD and they even made minor adjustments to one section of the game that was never quite right. There was a very difficult couple of moments, but the moments were only difficult unintentionally due to the pressures of releasing the game on a schedule. It’s all fixed now and is perfect.
A true 10/10 game.
Tom Clancy’s The Division is free to play on Steam until Sunday 1PM Pacific.
I think I can say this without it being a spoiler: by “difficult moments”, are you talking about trying to cross a net while fucking fireballs are thrown at you, or something like that?
Because I played the game almost until the end (I think), but there was one specific area I could. not. get. past. After far too many attempts, I quit the game in despair. If that section is patched, I might give it another try.
That part has been fixed to be easier, although it still isn’t easy. There are reasonable checkpoints now, where it used to throw you back to the start.
Good old Meat Circus. You could actually double-jump onto the opposite side of the net and be completely immune to the fireballs. The first and last jumps were a bit trickier, but otherwise that section was much easier than its reputation.
-
Catching the knife that was thrown in a spinning wheel now works instead of being broken as can be.
-
Sliding down a ladder while the water rises is now a little more merciful.
-
Some other things in the Meat Circus now work that were broken and, I think, some checkpoints were added.
They basically made it functional.
Oddworld: Abe’s Oddysee is free on Steam “for a limited time”
EDIT: And on gog.com too!
Back to Bed is currently free on Steam. It’s an artistic 3D puzzle game with a surreal twist. Very positive rating.
Weird - it shows up as 5.99 for me
Outlast + Outlast Whistleblower is free for a limited time on Humble Bundle.
As before, I grabbed a copy. If you miss the deal, contact me by 10 AM Pacific on October 7th and I’ll let you have the Steam keys.
